There was an online magazine I know of where they partnered with Amazon to make money. Whenever one of their writers wrote a review of a book, CD or DVD the writer could download a picture of that book. If someone clicked on it, they would be taken to the Amazon page on that item. The site earned money for doing that.

We aren't reviewers, but there are probably more readers here than most places; they probably buy a lot of books. Maybe you could get a deal with Amazon where you can download pictures into threads where people discuss particular books. We could alert you to those threads by posting something on a thread here, for instance.

Thank you for consideration of this matter.

Thanks for the suggestion. We have been doing this for years. Sadly, no-one remembers.

I was thinking of having the pictures of the books right in the posts. When people click on them they go to Amazon.

If you want, you might consider going into each book topic, a few per week, and adding a response with a picture of that book with a message stating that people can click on your picture to send them to the Longecity Amazon store.

If you had access to the store then would you want to arrange it so it has the latest books at the top? Would you want to say, create a topic about that book store and then make sure that the topic is active on a periodic basis? I dont remember who is working with that right now, but I think its a possibility if youre interested.

Nice to hear from you.

Unfortunately, I'm sorry to say I haven't been to our Longecity Book Store yet or any book topics so I wouldn't be the best person to do that.

The online magazine had a deal with Amazon where their writers could download a picture of each book from Amazon and paste in onto an article about that book. When people read that article and clicked on that picture, they were taken directly to the Amazon page about that book. The online magazine earned money from this.

Since we are a bookish crew that mentions books a lot, I was thinking you could make a similar deal. You could get these pictures from Amazon and paste them right on the threads where people mentioned books. They would not have to be book topics per se. You had to be authorized by Amazon to do this and it was kind of tricky. It gave me a headache. I think that someone else would be better at it than me. If you set this up, I would be glad to notify you guys if I mention a book. If you like I could try and let you know if anyone else did too. We all could, maybe by posting it in a thread here. Then someone who knew how could paste the Amazon picture on that thread.

My idea would reach people who don't go to those threads.

So then how else are you going to get the Longecity Amazon link out? How would you spread it to enough non Longecity places to make enough money to justify the effort?
