I just tried Vyvanse for the first time today and it's excellent. I finally feel like I have the ability to operate at my full potential when I'm on it, but I'm concerned that the effects will diminish...

Someone here might be able to help you, but you'd probably have a lot more luck doing some reading at ADDForums.

Amphetamine should probably be avoided if there's another medication which works for you.

Welbutrin is commonly prescribed for ADD.

Hmm perhaps I'll look into wellbutrin. I think I've pretty much decided that I'd rather burn the candle at both ends, but only if that actually works. Is XR effective in long time periods?

There are a couple of reports out there of people stating that they've been using for a decade or more - but not necessarily for ADD purposes, that seems to be a more recent use of it

Adderall XR? I think it depends on the individual. I've found the greatest benefit from adderall to be the effects which disappear most quickly, so I tend to cycle my usage and try to keep the dose at minimum. A lot of people find the greatest benefit in a more constant usage, and as nupi said, there are a lot of long-term users. However, I feel like the people I know who've been using adderall for a long time are on fairly high doses.

All of these drugs we're talking about have bigger issues attending their usage. You should definitely do more research before making up your mind.

Its possible youd need memantine and short breaks for long term effiacy, that said many individuals dont have tolerance issues because the D4 receptor wich plays the major role in ADHD, does not downregulate witch chronic activation.

I was referring to Wellbutrin XR. I would be far from convinced that Adderal is sustainable in the long term...

Bump

I'm currently rotating Piracetam and theanine with some other supps

I'm interested in trying this med though (Vyvanse) to see how it affects me. The mechanism of release to active amphetamine via cleavage of lysine aa for activation to ensure smoother and longer lasting effects is interesting to me. I probably would end up cycling this substance though as with most I tend to do best when cycling substances with variant mechanisms of action. Anyone on this .... for months? a year?
