Starting Out - Get Smart, Happy Days and S...

Zippy123's Photo Zippy123 06 Dec 2011

Hi all,

I have just spent more than 24 hours reading all the great stuff on this site. I am learning so much and am so grateful for this site.

Quick backstory: Depressed, Anxiety and ADHD all my life. Shrink's answer is to throw more drugs my way. Me, I would rather get off the Zoloft and Adderall (he now wants to add Wellbutrin).

Also severly struggle with: Vocabulary, Memory, Word Recall, Concentration and fear speaking as a result. Have a VERY outgoing personality but can be as blank as an empty canvas within minutes.

In order to get to the bottom of the issues I have begun experimenting including genetic testing. Have tried:

Modafinil = no impact at 100 mgs - doubled the dose and became angry and hostile. Quit after that
Adderall = Great weight supression but makes me (more) flat in the personality deaprtment. Want to quit but am loving teh weight loss - lame, I know.
Piracetam = I tried it and Day 1 was great but day 2 was horrible. Cranky - hostile. Could be that I teamed it with Zoloft and the Modafinil.
Every SSRI = Everything works for a few weeks and then stops. (this is true regardless of what type of medication or supplement)

For Supplements I take: Pycnogenol (sp), Fish Oil, Vit D3, Vit B, ALCAR, Sublingual B, Glycine, CoQ10 and a great Multi vitamin.

My issue is everything works for a while and then peters out (or it feels like it does). While it works I am a better and happier person but I live in fear of that three week return to the darkness.

Today, I ordered Get Smart, Happy Days and their Pro hGH (Human Growth Hormone).

My memory is so poor I can't even recall why I started this post! I think it was to ask this great community of people who know more than I do if they know of any risks associated with taking the Get Smart with Happy Days and Zoloft? Also, for those who are wondering about the effect of Get Smart and / or Happy Days I will gladly keep you updated on my progress - even if it is only for the three weeks until - if true to pattern - it stops working for me.

Thank you all in advance for any comments and/or insight.

Selegiline gives dopamine production AFAIK, which lifts up my mood when I need it.
Selgin tablets are very cheap (united pharmacies for EU, I don't know what's trustworthy for US).
Try 2.5mg first, then 5mg at max per day, taken sublingually. You could try higher doses, but I'd get wary of the MAO effects at higher doses.

For memory purposes, if you are 40+ consider a good B-complex; can work wonders.
Other than that, maybe an Uridine + DHA + choline regimen could help you.

Get off the SSRI's and Try the MAOI's. I'm completely against SSRI's they always seem to make people numb and don't feel happy or sad. Also they have sexual side effects and some result in lower serotonin levels after long term use. Wellbutrin can be good but i'd get off the others including the adderall.

Hi, The Get Smart and the Happy Days worked well for a few days but then nothing. Since that trial I tried Rhodiola, Piracetam and Antiracetam. The Rhodiola worked well but it alone wasn't enough. The Piracetam and Antiracetam did nothing. I am down to 50 mg's of Zoloft (from 400) and I now take DMAE, uridine, resveratrol, multi vitamin and E3 live algae. Things are a lot better but not perfect. I like it and feel like I am making progress in finding what is the perfect stack for me but i haven't yet found the perfect combo.
