Hi all,

I've been doing some research on multivitamins for the past few weeks and it's all very confusing to me. I was wondering if someone could recommend a decent multivitamin for me? After reading through this forum i've found a lot of information that suggests LEF products, but then I also read that some aspects of LEF multimix could be bad for you.

Right now i'm only working out but not watching my diet. I'm sure I don't get all the daily vitamins, minerals and nutrients I need, thus why i always feel so "blah" when i wake up in the morning and i'm ready for bed by noon. The reason I'm not watching my diet is because i'm depressed and lazy and everything seems to just take too much effort or requires too much focus, of which i appear to lack. I know my depression comes from being lazy, but i don't know where the being lazy comes from.

Basically, i'm hoping someone could point me into the right direction for a multivitamin that will supply me with the proper vitamins and nutrients I need to help give me more energy. I'm also hoping I can be directed to other supplements to take to help with depression and ADD.

Here's some information about me that will hopefully help in providing me with some information:

I'm 27 years old, 6'5", 200 pounds.. I don't have any known health issues and the last physical I had was 2 1/2 years ago and I was told to be in good health. I always feel tired, lazy, unmotivated and depressed. If you've ever seen the movie "Fight Club" where Edward Norton is explaining how he feels like everything is a copy of a copy or an "alternate reality", that's how I feel on a lot of occasions. Everything seems hazy/cloudy on a pretty regular basis and i'm finally coming to terms with these issues and trying to better myself physically and mentally before I dig myself into a major case of depression where I never leave the house.

I hope this is enough information for someone to help assist/guide me to the proper supplement(s) I may need. The number of supplements I have to take won't bother me, nor will the cost of them.

Thanks in advance for any help and/or guidance.

I reccomend LEF Mix. The only issue I see (which is an issue of the vast majority of multi-nutrient formulas) is the lack of mixed tocopherols or tocotrienols. LEF fully recognizes this but can not add them because LEF Mix is dry powders. They strongly urge an additional mixed tocopherols/tocotrienols supplement. Lately they have been adding sesame lignans as an adjuct to gamma tocopherol to raise plasma levels.

AOR is Alpha Dog here since they paid off ImmInst to lead this forum (along with Nootropics and Brain Enhancers which is ironic as they are "Advanced Orthomolecular Research"... LEF is not represented here so they obviously can't defend themselves (unfortunately).

A post I had come across earlier recommended "Life Extension Multivitamin + Life Extension Super Booster + Life Extension ChronoForte" to someone. Is this something I should similarly look into, or should I keep it simple at first?

Also, is there any benefit to taking the LEF Mix versus the multivitamin?

The powder Mix and the pills are the same, it is a matter of preference and convenience, if pills don't bother you take them.

I think LEF is the way to go too, you can search for my regimen, I take oodles of LEF products.

Regarding energy and vitamins, unless you are severely deficient, multivitamins are unlikely to boost your energy levels. It is more about a long term health strategy.

For ADD/ADHD symptoms many like L-Tyrosine, Chocamine and ALCAR. It is pretty stimulating. Personally, I like Adderall.

Although this is an older post, I thought I'd reply. I used to be in the same boat as you, feeling rundown and unmotivated (I'm also physically similar @ 6'3 180 lbs). I started fixing my diet and taking supplements and that helped a bit by giving me more energy. The funny thing was, when I had more energy I'd do more in a day, which seemed to give me even more energy still (while the cycle of sitting on the couch sapped my energy). Recently, I made two awesome discoveries: maca and rhodiola rosea. If I take these I have amazing energy and mental focus, even if I don't take them everyday. I highly recommend them both.

dantecubit,

I have ordered from therootofthematter before. I have never seen Rhodiola offered on his website. Do you have to email him special for that ??

God bless,

Strongman.

Go with Vitamin Shoppe's LEF knock-off:

Good call Stellar, but if you join LEF, you can get it the real thing, with guaranteed quality for $49.50 when you buy 10. Then, if you buy during the once yearly super sale, you can get it for $44.55.

People think LEF is expensive, but when you buy in bulk, you get great deals and you get the full support of LEF with knowledgeable health advisors, real MD medical doctors and Oncologist available for free phone consultations---and discount blood tests etc.

Nothing wrong with the other one, but I prefer the real thing when possible.

The Vitamin Shoppe knockoff isn't worth it. Go with LEF and buy in bulk (Are you really going to order this every month?). LEF has a strong reputation for quality and the peace of mind is worth it. Actually... what am I saying, LEF's Mix is cheaper than the knockoff when you buy in bulk anyway!

Hello All,

Another option that might address all issues is Relentless Improvement. We offer genuine LEF product (always discounted) and we offer a broad line or AOR product (always discounted).

All LEF products are usually priced about at or below the "buy 4" price regardless of the order quantity, and no LEF member fee to pay. So if you want to sample some LEF products without committing to the $75 up front for best pricing, Relentless Improvement is a sensible option (and you still are financially supporting LEF goals if you buy from us - so no moral dilemmas). I have deep respect for both companies, that is why we carry both.

I tried my first AOR Essential Mix today. Used the included measuring scoop and mixed it in a half glass of water. You may not believe that it can be described as delicious. Imagine a vanilla milkshake, but with other delicious flavor overtones. It would not be hyperbole to describe it as the "Fragrant Orchid" of multis.

If the semi-commercial nature of this post is not appropriate for the forum, please advise, I wish to be a good neighbor!

Kind Regards,
psychenaut
