The facility to edit a post is temporary, I think just
about half an hour after the post is made, after which
the edit button goes missing.

Frankly, I wonder why this is the case and serves
no purpose.

This is very inconvenient, and many times I had wanted
to edit the post the next day or later, after noting a typo
or other errors then.

I remember another member had also mentioned this some
time ago in the "Medicine & Diseases" subforum. (Incidentally,
this forum has way too many subforums, which I am sure
bewilders and turns off many potential new users.)

Secondly, this new forum has bugs and is incompatible
with this Seamonkey browser which I use. Its Gecko
engine is based on that of the former Mozilla 13 and Netscape.

I cannot write in the post window, and neither can I copy
and paste there, after writing the post out in Notepad first,
which I usually do for convenience.

I have to turn off the Javascript function and reload the editor
in text mode, or else am forced to use Internet Explorer.

I believe this new forum is programmed in Microsoft's
Visualbasic Script, compatible only with IE-type engines.

I hardly ever use IE due to serious security flaws - most
security-conscious browser users know this and don't as well.

I don't use Firefox either as I do not like its interface, which
resembles that of IE.

tham, have you tried clearing the cache, along with cookies?
I'm posting this from seamonkey, and it seems fine.

Thanks.

I've tried clearing the cache, and cookies as well.

I didn't think that would have any difference, and they
didn't. Cookies are just for remembering the login details.

I tried toggling the Edit Mode button and that seems to work
this time. Is that a Text / HTML selector ?

It's a formatted/unformatted selector.
