The first 1,000 things to do before you die.

eternaltraveler's Photo eternaltraveler 05 Aug 2005

well, if time were the same kind of dimension, spatial, it would be only one, but you actually move through both simultaneously. Otherwise you could stop aging just by moving, but then that gets into all kinds of complications, so i think we can agree that it doesnt happen like that.

You can, if you could go the speed of light. Of course you would also stop doing anything.

Don't forget to brush on your Saint Seiya edumentaries; Dragon Ball was aimed at educating children under 7.

I find anime to be incredibly annoying/boring, so I have no clue what you are talking about (I googled "Saint Seiya" and it said anime).

That's right, I said it!

Then again it just occured to me that flying like superman is part of being a Super Sayan... so to replace that one, one of the things I'd like to do before i die would be... explore the experiences and complexity of altering the form of my body (various features, abilities, attractiveness and all the human complexity, even animals, etc).

REGIMEN's Photo REGIMEN 08 Aug 2005

This is actually funny since when I google "super sayan" all I get is an assload of links for "Anime" and "Dragon Ball".
Seems I don't know what you're talking about also since the only passing references I've ever heard concerning the supernatural, shooting-fireballs-from-your-hands, flying-faster-than-light-speed, ridiculousness of being a 'super sayan' have come from the two anime series I had the opportunity to overhear my fellow kindergarteners talk about after watching the original NHK broadcasts nearly 20 years ago.

5. Be immortal

Supposing you can't silly...

It is contradicting the question, it says what if you could NOT be one.

brokenportal,
Is there a limit of time to do this, people are treating it as they choose when to die travel worlds do stuff that takes plenty of time...
I mean if you have no time limit you don't really have to die.

I'm answering this as if I knew the day my life would end, and that there's nothing I could do about it. Otherwise, the question is kind of moot on a forum devoted to the pursuit of immortality... (These answers are also ignoring the philosophical problems that arise from knowing that you and your memories will cease to exist afterwards.)

1.) Spend a year skiing in the Alps and living at a quaint Swiss mountain town!

2.) Go caving in some of the recently discovered caves in Mexico where they have shining crystals 30 feet tall!

3.) Backpack around Tibet for a year with a beautiful, adventurous, fascinating woman!

4.) Boat down the entire length of the Amazon while taking side treks with my native guide onto unexplored side paths!

5.) Buy a 50 ft. sailboat that I can singlehandly sail around the BVIs and the rest of the Caribbean to live out the rest of my days... with the nights spent in a king size bed next to the latest media entertainment... and the days spent reading and writing on deserted pure white sandy beaches next to sparkling blue water.

Hence, my modes of pleasure have been exposed for the world to critique and examine!

No offence ment Stephen [sfty]

Hehe, sentences 1-4 are funny, made me grin. Why? the exclamation marks. Imagine you were talking to Stephen in person and at the end he was loud. [lol] Surprisingly he did not continue on in the same manner with sentence 5; Intentional? [huh] ;)

For people who do not understand why I find it funny, maybe the following meanings will help.

Ex·cla·ma·tion ( P ) Pronunciation Key (kskl-mshn)
n.
An abrupt, forceful utterance: an exclamation of delight.
An outcry, as of protest.
Grammar. An interjection.

Punc·tu·a·tion ( P ) Pronunciation Key (pngkch-shn)
n.

The use of standard marks and signs in writing and printing to separate words into sentences, clauses, and phrases in order to clarify meaning.
The marks so used.
The act or an instance of punctuating.

It's funny you'd comment on those, 123456. I actually went back and added them after I finished writing my comment. As I read through it the second time, I realized: here I am, sharing my deepest desires about what I would do with limited time -- and it sounds so wrong! Imagine Ben Stein saying that he wants to raft down the amazon in some dry monotone.

The standard web font I was staring at on the screen didn't seem to communicate the excitement and anticipation that would be in my voice if I were actually telling someone what my deepest hedonistic pursuits are. In retrospect, perhaps a [lol] after each sentence would've conveyed that better. Exclamation points do tend to indicate a rise in voice intonation more than anything else.

Yes, it's true!!! :)

3)Raise and evolve the minds of a whole island of children.

4)Watch them do the same and proliferate.

5)Live at the bottom of the ocean and multiple planets in one lifetime and always know what's going on yet never letting one hand know what the other was doing.

And it was so.

This concept has evolved for me into what I call the requisite 8.

Five more that fit with in there would be:

1. To race some of the original ImmInst members in space craft around the galaxy.
2. To live in a skyscraper in New York City.
3. To live in a deep ocean enviroment and being able to explore it with deep ocean subs.
4. To rope and ride on a huge cattle ranch.
5. To get a campaign bus set up and rolling to bring about more exposure for the indefinity cause.

This is indeed a very good exercise if someone has nothing to do or is bored... I assume i have just my lifetime/aging hasn't been beaten, otherwise the list would be endless.

1. Become a billionaire
2. Travel to space at least once
3. Have a high-tech mansion
4. Spend like 50k building a super PC to play a lot of stuff and create a custom scenario in Age of Empires II with hundreds of thousands (maybe millions) of soldiers/units (instead of the limit of a few thousands that i can put on my current PC without it crashing)
5. Buy a super sports car and speed like crazy
6. Travel to lots of places that i haven't visited yet
7. Plan and fund an organization to fight aging

Hm unfortunately i've ran out of time now i'll post more later maybe

1. Turn a city block with many level buildings on it in to an out of this world paintball course with hotels to simulate slums, and mess halls and stuff like that so you can feel like your in Beirut or something when your there. There would be no fire zones, but then when your going from place to place you would have to fight. Hits would hold a value, like, once your shirt has 5 or more colors on it then you turn it in and this counts against you some how. Maybe people would gamble x amounts of dollar, say, $1,000 to enter, then every shirt you have to turn in is worth like $40. Say then, the 5 who lost the least amount of shirts would split up the winnings.
