Suggestion: In an efford to raise the respectability of the ImmInst forums, the "clickable Smilies" menue currently very prominently displayed on the left when drafting a post should be relegated to a small button next to the other formating buttons.

I do not think it is unrespectable or something to have these smilies like that. I even think that's nice. I would even bring them back the old colors and so the old smilies, but not necessary. I think that that protruding similies menue is great and I am not pro taking it of, or change it as your suggestion caliban.

I find the smilies to be useful. I don't like to overuse them, but occasionally they are useful to clarify meaning. You wouldn't want a sarcastic remark to be taken the wrong way. [wis]

Malchiah, I think what is meant by the suggestion is that smilies would have their own scroll list as opposed to being clickable on the left. However, I could be wrong or you could just be making a general comment, in which cases disregard what I said.

Just because we're doddering old folks who choose not to use them isn't a good reason to ditch them. I don't see much of them in the more "respectable" threads in any case...
