We are getting close to the deadline for the cryo fundraiser.

Thanks to all who have donated so far!

What's your take?

I think we can do it. We have through the end of March, correct?

No, March 1st, but we may get an extension because of technical issues.

I frankly didn't think we could make it yesterday, but today has changed the outlook. :)

I am a tiny bit upset. I asked several times (in meetings) if the cryonics fundraiser continued through the end of March, and the only answer I got was yes. I guess I should have read more thoroughly on the fundraiser pages. I was certainly planning on more promotion through the month of March. I haven't done a whole lot so far.

Here is where I went astray as well. On this page is says "Current most pressing fundraiser, through March 2012"

I took it as meaning through the end of the month of March.

Over $4,600 today. Is this including the pledges here and the $300 that arrived by check? I am thinking no, since it is an automated donation tracker. I will also donate my thank you points once I figure out how.

I added that line in that page there. Im sorry if I had led you astray on the date.

The $50 pledges you link to there havent been added in yet. I think I am going to go and indicate there that I am adding my $50 ahead of the pledge success or lack thereof too. Others then will be free to not donate if the pledge doesnt reach 11 total. Im contacting people to try to finish that up right now. Guido Degrassi says he will make the pledge tomorrow, as it is late over there right now.

We can certainly make it to $5,000 now, and maybe even $6,000.

Ive contacted about 200 people at Longecity one on one and around 200 people in Facebook. I asked a variety of Transhuman and general fundraiser news outlets to release the news. If each of us does around 50 more apiece, today and tomorrow, emphasizing the deadline and how close we are now, then I can see it reaching $6,000.

Considering the tech issues we have had and since things are now looking up,we can extend the matching period into March provided the Board agrees. However, we have to close the 2011 budget in mid-March.

We crossed the $5,000 mark today. Yay! Way to go everyone. Fundraising is going to be extended one more week, so save your pennies and donate a couple more dollars.

With point pledges we are there. I'm not sure whether to keep going or not. I would prefer to send extra for the project if we ended up with extra, to help it be a little stronger.

It's amazing to be standing here already, at the completion of this fundraiser, being able to help set more research in motion. It seems like just a few weeks ago that it looked like a long, hard, haul ahead. Uncertainty in completing it is usually just in the periphery, in the subconscious. Its a nice testament to will power it seems. We never seem to really think of it in terms of "what if we dont reach the mark", we just dig in and do what it takes to get it done.
