Longecity has done a lot of great things over the years. They may be small in the scheme of things but they are still big steps, especially for a small but growing organization of our current size. Then also every step or stride adds toward the goal as a whole.

Imagine being able to take part in a civil rights march or action in the 60s, or one of the historic women's rights conventions around the turn of the 20th century.

This chance is like that. If you want to be a part of this, then every contribution goes a long way. As Pamela Oliver and Gerald Marwell wrote about social movements,

"Finally, the opposite holds in some technologies: in mass actions such as marches, petition-signing, or voting, each person can make only the same small contribution, and what matters is how many have contributed. One person marching for 1,000 hours is not the same as 1,000 people marching for one hour."

No donation or contribution is too large, but there aren't any that are too small either. The more contributions there are the better, and we can all make small contributions. This growing list of contributors and action goes a long way in getting more people to pay attention and consider getting in on the cause themselves. One $1,000 donation is amazing, but 1,000 $1 donations is even better. One spokesman like Aubrey de Grey or Michael Rose spreading information to hundreds of thousands of people is invaluable to the cause, but 100,000 people reaching out to 100,000 more people is even better.

The following song is a great illustration that demonstrates one great example of the small things making the difference. The song says in part, "Rosa Parks sat so that Martin Luther could walk. Martin Luther walked so that Barack Obama could run. Barack Obama ran so that all the children could fly." In their case, a race was suppressed, and they made it out. Now as we continue to take our "seats at the front of the bus", as we continue to "march" with the message in hand, as we continue to deliver this information to the world, we come closer to our goal of liberating the aged from their shackles.

So thank you to all who continue to make the progression of this life or death cause possible. We can do it, keep moving forward, you're doing a stupendous job. The journey is long, but the steps add up, and as they do, the goal gets closer and closer. This is because each of us continues to go the distance that we can.

There are definitely much more activists now compared to a few years ago. The good thing is, they are generally very motivated. Apart from the usual platforms (facebook etc) perhaps we should think of other ways of approaching the large masses of people.

I'll second that. Please put any of your ideas in the Project Ideas forum and/or contribute to any that are similar on there. I know you already know this but I don't want good ideas to be missed just because they're in the wrong place. :)

I will post this in project ideas also. Just a suggestion, instead of Longecity or other organisations giving some of their funds to research, why don’t they pay for an advertisement in a newspaper (New York Times, or in the UK say, the Daily Mail etc). This will reach a lot of ordinary people some of whom, I am sure, will want to find out more about the subject. Perhaps there should be a central fund, where people could contribute until the money is enough for a half (or a full) page advert.
