Fatigue Regimen - Guidance?

I suffer from fatigue in the winter time, but not full on depression. I have implemented this regimen which some days completely eliminates my fatigue, while during others it is worse than ever. Keep in mind that I work out, both lifting and cardio, very often.

Morning (w/ breakfast):
1x Solgar Omnium Multivitamin
2x NOW Foods Mood Support (http://www.iherb.com...Vcaps/8214?at=0)
1x Iodoral 12.5mg
1x NOW Foods Vitamin D3 5000IU
1x NOW Foods Ultra Omega-3

Night (w/ dinner):
2x NOW Foods Mood Support
1x NOW Foods Ultra Omega-3

Before bed:
2x NOW Foods ZMA

I used to take another multivitamin at night until I read that too many B vitamins can affect sleep in a negative way. My inconsistency of fighting off fatigue may be related to the 5-HTP in the Mood Support, but I have no idea. I just started the Iodoral recently and the first two days I was feeling great. However, today is day three and after lunch I became deeply tired and never recovered. I slept 8.5 hours the night before and ate a peanut butter and jelly sandwich for breakfast. I used to feel really depressed when I woke up but I feel the Iodoral fixed that. I am curious to as what you suggest? Would a high protein lunch combat this?

Have you considered things like rhodiola, ginseng, cordycpes or schizandra?

5HTP may throw you off balance and could possibily cause fatigue.

Carb restriction and adding more protein would definitely help.

Also you mention eating a peanut butter sandwhich. That is just junk dude. Eliminating wheat completely, might have postive effects on how you feel. Even if it's not an allergen to you it is still bad stuff for any person to consume. Wheat contains opiod peptides that dumb you and zombify. Having the odd piece of bread isn't going to do any harm now and again but having wheat as an integral part of your diet is not a good thing. You may also be allergic to other things. I have allergic reactions to processed sugar, wheat (by far the worse), pollen and barley.


Other than that you might have some sort of immune disorder. Go to the doctor and complain of your fatigue and he should do all the necessary tests. I did this recently and have discovered that I have a slightly higher white blood cell count which my doc is going to investigate further with more tests.

I came across this and was really curious about what you said about wheat, did some looking around and can't believe it. This was quite summarizing,

I'm going to have to find a wheat and dairy free diet to try out.

Moreover my Mrs has been diagnosed with an autoimmune disease, graves disease, makes me wonder...

Now I sit here thinking of everything I feed my 16 month old daughter and cringe.

I going to at least try and cut it out and see how it goes.
