I just picked up the March issue of WIRED magazine has an article on the paraplegic Matthew Nagle, who has a 'BrainGate' installed that allows him to control a mouse cursor.

Martin, Richard. Mind Control, Wired Magazine.

From their homepage, this is not an approved device, but is currently undergoing an FDA approved clinical trial.

And, some older links relevant to this story:

The Patriot Ledger: `I will never forgive you:' Matthew Nagle's attacker will be free someday, but Nagle tells him, `You sentenced me to a life in this chair'

BTW, hello all, this is my first post to this forum. =)
