I used to use Jarrowsil and it was a good product, but I've switched to Cola de Caballo (Horsetail) extract by Amazon Therapeutics. It is a much more potent form of organic silica. You can get it from Vitacost.com. Herbspro also sells it as do a number of other places including the manufacturer. I have found Herbspro and
Amazon Therapeutics to have some problems. I can't speak to the other sellers. Swanson's may be carrying this soon. They are an honest company although their shipping takes too long to where I live for my taste.

There is a lot of published research with BioSil; none that I know of with JarrowSil, though some may have happened since the last time I looked. After using BioSil for a long time, I decided to take a chance with JarrowSil, reasoning that as it was a stabilized soluble form of silicon, as is BioSil, it should have the same properties. Obviously, it costs a lot less... It's kind of like the situation with Pycnogenol, a branded bine bark extract versus a generic pine bark extract. You have to pay a lot more to get the brand name.
I've read that the horsetail products have poor bioavailability. (sorry for lack of refs)

indeed, jarrosil is cheaper, but is it reliable and as good as biosil? Havent placed any orders yet.

Yes, that is what niner was alluding to in his post: Jarrowsil may be as good as Biosil but you're not going to know objectively beforehand because there is no published research on Jarrowsil. My personal take: Biosil lasts a long time in the 30ml bottles, I've been taking it for 4+ months (tapered down to 3 drops daily after a couple of months) and feel good on it; it helps not just skin but also digestion which is strong plus point and makes the whole thing feel very wholesome overall. Give either product a try and report back here, it is the easiest way of building knowledge on the subject without having research available.

I have been using JarrowSil for about 2 years. 7 drops a day, whatever that adds up to. FWIW, I am told I have amazing skin for a 51 YO male, but taking Jarrowsil is far from the only thing I do to enhance and protect my skin. I was unaware that jarrow was less expensive than BioSil, Jarrow is actually a relatively high priced line of supplements. I generally like their compunding and pill forms and packaging. My rationale is that since they have a broad and high priced line of supplements that they have a lot to loose if they put out a product that is inferior or ineffective.
