After reading this article http://www.therepubl...virtualdementia I thought of a far-fetched idea I'm going to share anyway. Sorry if I ever posted anything similar at any point.

I found a wonderful article about how healthy people can wear goggles, headphones gloves and shoe inserts to replicate how difficult life can be for someone with dementia. One of the things I reckon that keeps people from contemplating curing aging other than not wanting to face the reality is simply not knowing how bad it can be. Something like this would force them to experience it.

Perhaps at some point if Longecity can become big enough, we could be one of those charities that hold stalls in places to spread information and perhaps have some sort of aging/dementia simulators for people to try out. Maybe even further along we could even have a touring bus with info and an aging simulator.

Will you check around and see if you can find as many of those things as you can, like those goggles and shoe inserts, and then do what it takes to find out how much they could be purchased or rented for?

Once we know if we can even get our hands on this kind of stuff, and if its affordable, we can contemplate this further.

Here's the answers:

Also, they seem like a good organisation to contact regarding our cause as they do a lot for elder care and allowing old people to realise their dreams. As they can see that old people still have a lot of living to do and contributions to give, perhaps they would be more sympathetic. :)

That's great, only around $120. What do you think might work in setting something up to make points about aging with this? Supplying a list of tasks to report on and these items for people working in nursing homes and places like that seems like it would be great but I dont think we could drum up enough participants for something like that right now. What I do think we could do though incorporate this into a booth like youre saying. What do you think, and if you agree then what do you see as a next step to organizing this?

I was thinking that at least here in UK, places hold events like carnivals, small fayres and bigger events and I’m imagining that such things also happen like this internationally. Perhaps such a simulator at a stall there or in a gazebo type thing would be a good way to raise awareness? You could have the simulator, loads of literature and perhaps a video playing in the background if feasible?

Events already aimed at health and well-being may be a good bet. There is always the option of asking your local town/city council how to go about having an exhibit in town. I personally think that getting together small outreach teams would be the way forward and it’s a shame that the different chapters couldn’t be somehow organised to facilitate this. This is just my opinion and I’ve not got much understanding of organisation etc. and I will admit that personally I’d hate to be dealing with people face to face. I’m sure that there are people out there who thrive on such things.

You could really go the whole hog and have a drama/dance group in the vicinity to do something relating to the cause/aging, perhaps other artists also on hand to spread the word and make people think?

Probably far-fetched but that's my idea.
