It seems to me that the evidence for resveratrol as a life extender is getting weaker. But I've noticed that there's been a fair number of studies showing it has analgesic effects--something important to those of us with chronic pain. For example,

Pham-Marcou TA et al. Antinociceptive effect of resveratrol in carrageenan-evoked hyperalgesia in rats: prolonged effect related to COX-2 expression impairment. Pain. 2008 Nov 30;140(2):274-83. Epub 2008 Sep 23.

But I haven't seen any human studies on this.
