Airtight buildings are unhealthy.

LED and fluorescent lights suck.

Biodegradable plastic containers and bags fall apart without warning when you are using them to contain things. I lost an expensive computer screen that way when something leaked on it.

Where I live we recycled for years. We had to drive to the nearest elementary school to do it. I turned out that the mayor just had them burn all our recycling, that of several hundred thousand people. There were no recycling plants in driving distance either which should have been noticed. Maybe one person who could have noticed that was the "Recycling Co-ordinator" a fulltime paid position in a major city. She went around to schools teaching the children to recycle. Then we recycled privately with pickups on each floor of the building. I conscientiously washed dried and sorted everthing. After five years, it developed that our recycling had been taken to the dump because there were still no recycling plants in the county. Now I think we have them, but I throw away everything and will for the forseeable future. Maybe if someone does a CSI and followed the recycling trucks I would consider resuming, maybe.

Luminosity,
That is truly a tragedy!

& as for the low flush toilet... The solution is simple. Time your #2 for when everyone needs a #1. Low flow problem eliminated.
