I used accutane when I was 15 and I didn't know of the potential side effects besides dry skin or dry eyes. I am especially worried about the effects it could have had on my bones and brain. http://en.wikipedia....Adverse_effects
So have I messed up my growth and brain by using accutane?

It is one horrible drug.. Especially taking it at the young age of 15 considering all the growth that is going on. On the other hand the young body should tolerate it best and it probably depends on the dosage and length of the course how much damage it could have done and is it permanent. If you don't notice significant issues in your daily life you could have gotten away without any major damage and especially if it's been a long time since the course and no wierd symptoms have showed up. I was offered it a year ago but refused. Not that several antibiotic courses would be good either..

I think accutane should only be used to treat acne like this as a last resort method . I would much rather have any accutane side effect then have acne like this:

I've had worse than that at least in the size of the inflammated bumps but with diet and lifestyle changes and some supplements been able to turn it to quite mild.

Yes Acne is terrible The immortalist,

But mention 2 years of acne, or whole life depression libido problems muscle pains.

its concluded that accutane make the brain less active, so oke but you dont now how that feels.its like trapped in yourself..

Maybe the sides are only apparent in 1 %, but you dont know if your one of them.

its a man or girls own decision to take a shot yes or no, but the only thing is that people must get a fair notice of the possibility of this side effects.

This is why multiple combinations of different topical retinoids, other topical treatments, and oral antibiotics should be tried before oral accutane is used, especially in the young. Many people get away with few to zero long-term side effects, but some aren't so lucky.

It's a crap shoot. Don't take it again. If you haven't noticed anything specific so far, then maybe nothing bad happened. Don't do anything else crazy, drugs, unhealthy habits, extreme regimens, etc.
