I start the day off fine, ambitious and motivated to do things, then after a long drive, say 1.5 hours long, to my friends place I start socializing with them for another couple hours. At the end of all this I don't feel any reward from socializing with them- my mood becomes flatter than usual, I become more anxious, etc, however I'm still very alert and energized. This has happened before where I had to drive a long distance and then became very amotivated at a party. Does anyone know the neuro mechanisms behind the mood flatness after long periods of concentration? I also noticed that my mind started to mildly race at the end of the night with random thoughts going through my mind, with no relevance whatsoever.
