This introduction is a bit shorter than what I believe such a fascinating topic deserves. But lack of sleep prompts me to make it as brief as possible. I stumbled on some rather interesting studies today which I thought had some significance to singularity ideas insomuch as they deal with interactions between humans and artificial intelligences. In this case between the Aibo robot dogs and groups of preschool age children, older children, and the elderly. Sadly the one I was most interested in, dealing with the older children, had either not been finished or published yet. A PDF of the preschool study is available on their site though.

Great link. I am glad to see an interest out there in studying the effects of our technological artifacts on humanity. Definitely hope to see more. Technology progressives may as a whole support the use of technology, but our support doesn't lessen the need for these type of studies. Maybe someday there will be more formal critiques by social scientists on topics such as transhumanism, life extension, and artificial intelligence.
