IPL seems to be a relatively new development in cosmetic skin treatments but it's quite difficult to find credible information about it. I have a few questions off the top of my head:

- Is IPL safer than fractional laser treatments? Intuitively I'd say yes as IPL is less invasive, but I'd like to be sure.
- How should one choose the wavelength? I guess this depends on the application but what to choose for example for a) "rejuvenation" b) freckle removal c) treatment of redness d) treatment of sun damage?
- Are some IPL-systems more versatile (for example regarding wavelength) than others and which are the good brands?
- What supplements should one take before an IPL (or laser) treatment, if any?

Go on realself.com. I think you'll get more answers that way.

While we are on the topic, has anyone tried the IPL hair removal thingies (e.g. Philips Lumea)? Safe? Effective?

I'd prefer to hear from the knowledgeable people frequenting this forum. realself.com seems to have lots of anecdotes but it's difficult or impossible to form informed opinions based on anecdotes only.
