Took 400mg again with milk and then water.
I can't tell about its cognitive effects as there wasn't not much to learn this day.
However I did feel something in my brain similar to the first time I took aniracetam but more pleasant.
I shall see what it does this weekend with higher doses.
Super Memory. Memorize everything over a single glance.

Try some dual N Back! BTW you okay ?
Remember that this substance isn't recommended for use anymore, but that may be becuase it didn't work for what it was meant to be used for.
Also I Think if you dissolved it in DMSO and administered it transdermally, you would get good results, but BE CAREFUL.

I have DMSO, and it smells awful. I wouldn't recommend it. If Zi Cao was micronized, then I think it would be of use in transdermal delivery.

Any followup on this? Did anyone else try Zi Cao?

One year later I still got my Zi Cao batch, so I decided to try it again and see what it does...
I mixed 3g with milk (since beta lactoglobulin enhances absorption 181 fold), it mixed pretty well then I added some water and the substance seems to dissolve pretty well.
I took 4.4g last night, 3g this morning, didn't feel anything in particular.
Even in regards to what TCM says about Zi Cao I felt none of the claimed effects : cools the blood, increases yin and eases down on the yang
Well at least I didn't get harmful effects from it, maybe I'll try higher doses but I'm not sure it really works, 3g is already 15g of pure Zi Cao root (my batch is a 5:1 concentrate)...
Maybe the content of shikonin is too low or PKR inactivation is in fact very insignificant.
Antipyretic effects? Huh I would like to see that. Maybe there's some truth concerning the weak analgesic effect, it's true that after intake my tolerance to pain increases, interesting...
Hopefully Zi Cao and shikonin remains extremely safe, at least there's almost no risk in taking large amounts.
The only thing I can say is that it hasn't affected my cognitive abilities in a bad way however I'm unable to say if it actually improved them. I still got a huge bottle of Zi Cao so I'll have all the time to see if that works or not.
