I'm looking to buy a TDCS device (I'm sure others are too) but am unaware of the devices on the market and Google is unfortunately overrun with Goflow results.

I have goflow on my list although I'm not too interested in a visor type device because it doesn't let me control the placement of electrodes (and isn't out yet) I know about the Oasis pro unlocked and am seriously considering it but would like more choices.

The Soterix ones seem great and I've emailed them but I expect that they are for science/medical professionals only and probably y cost a few k looking at the company.

I'm looking for something under $700.

Any names you guys have that actually sell to the public? (with waiver or prescription)

Thanks!

That is very interesting; I have never come across these devices before.
I wonder how it compares to cognitive enhancers.

You can make your own GoFlow. The schematics are on their website (Schematic PDF Link). Thus it does not have to be a visor. It could be a box kept in your pocket or a flat piece strapped to your chest, use your imagination. Show someone the circuit at a Radioshack or Maplin and you walk out with it. Shouldn't cost too much to make at all.

tDCS boosts BDNF production

It supposedly doubles your learning rate in certain tasks. The long term benefits & risks have not been studied as far as I am aware.

Check out alltdcs . com and go to their device section. It has a pretty good rundown

If you do get one, you should take some sort of cognitive tests for a week or so before beginning use, and then measure your improvement.

Trans Cranial Technologies sells this: http://www.trans-cra...lation-kit.html
Reddit has much info on this and other TDCS devices out there. I'm surprised how little interest there is in forums on TDCS. It's starting to get mainstream. Have not tried it myself but I am watching. This is the article that got my attention: http://theweek.com/a...he-way-we-think (original article from New Scientist).

Bump.
Been one year flow state engaged hasn't given a single update, I'm not sure they will ever release it. I would really like to buy one of these devices without prescription.

I purchased this device directly from their website without a prescription and received it without any issues. Please note that the cost to ship from Hong Kong is a bit steep with their limited options. I have had no problems with the device. You may want to get some different straps and sponges to see what works best for you.

Hi SUB-Rx, I would like to purchase the same device as you, however, I am interested in exactly how it works for you, has your working memory improved? I've heard people measure this by going to Lumosity. Thanks!

I have been doing this for over three years now. Here's the device I currently use...http://www.scriphessco.com/products/activa-activadose-ii-iontophoresis-device/. Just order from their website with no prescription needed. Originally, I was able to find an iontophoresis device for $50 on ebay to test the idea.

Yep, it works. Set up and clean up are a bit of a pain though. =)

Here are some videos http://www.transcran...com/tdcs-videos

This site has a ton of info http://www.diytdcs.com/ and so does reddit

Almost forgot...for measurement and self testing I use cambridgebrainsciences and I've also used cognitivefun.net in the past. Non-subjective tests like this are invaluable.

I hope that helps =)

Could you be more specific on the results you have seen throughout your three years of use? What aspects of your cognition, or other areas of your life, have improved? Any side effects or trade-offs?

I've been doing left dorsolateral prefrontal cortex stimulation simultaneous with dual-n-backing for about 10 sessions of 20 minutes each, but can not say that this seems to have improved my performance in any way. A session with tDCS stimulation does not appear to improve concentration or any other part of my cognition. It does not appear to have any side effects either, which is good I suppose.

Anodal stimulation of the left dorsolateral prefrontal cortex coupled with cathodal placement at the right supraorbital area has proven effective against depression. I suppose I don't have clinical depression at present (my activity and motivation levels suggest some sort of depression spectrum problem though, but I don't have that persistent nagging negative voice that was the clearest signature of previous episodes).

I may have opted for too small electrodes, so maybe it would be worthwhile trying it with larger pads than I currently have (5 x 5 cm + 8 x 8 cm).

Weird that it has just one customer review who has rated it with 1 star.

That was a disgruntled non user who didn't take the time to work it out. I'm trying to figure out if the unit would deliver the correct current in the way required to do this. If it's as simple as 9v - 2mA to two electrodes suitably placed it sounds a bit pricy but if I can make it work would be worth it.

I'm trying to quickly figure it out so I can get some hardware and get some brain hacking started :). I got about 3 programming languages to finish mastering!

Going to try these: www.trans-cranial.com

This might be expensive but I've not the time/patience to do DIY at the moment. I've gone for UPS Express and hope it turns up on Friday because i'm home ALL day and have a nice fat stack of books to be reading and programming to be doing.

It's either that...or the xbox.

I'll duly report back my own experience, bearing in mind I use noopept and neurozan plus (and Modafinil up until last week!).

Does anyone know where to buy a HD-tDCS machine or if this: http://tdcs-kit.com/ can be made into one easily?

I just finished making my "complex" tDCS machine yesterday as a matter of fact.
I used rubber electrodes inside a sponge and attempted to use them on my left & right dorsolateral prefrontal cortex.
Can't say I felt much with them on. After 20 minutes I was curious so I applied the rubber electrodes without a sponge to the same areas and got a series of flashing lights in front of my eyes as well as a burning sensation from my forehead.
I think I may have not applied enough saline solution to the sponges as I did not really feel much effect.

I was wondering if anybody knew why the sponges are required? Do you think I could get away with simply using the rubber electrodes on their own?
