I take wheatgrass daily. Maybe its just bs but friends that have not seen me in a while comment my hair looks darker (was not grey before just brown). It also seems to reduce my hunger post workout.

My question is wheatgrass is loaded with vitamin K. I am interest in Vitamin K2 for the health benefits. Is wheatgrass vitamin K only K1? I do not want to have too much K but also want the benefits of K2. Any Feedback appreciated thanks.

yes it is loaded with vitamin k1 because it is a component of the photosynthetic complex, some say it is not the best form of K.
pure green leaf vegetables contain it in the range of 200-600mcg/cup and the linus pauling institute states that 120 mcg is desired.
In my opinion it is safe to take more, and if you take vitamin E you need even more because of its antagonistic action

My understanding is that you can't get too much Vitamin K. Since K converts to K2, that means you'll get more K2. And I also understand from everything I've read that high doses of vit K do not make your blood clot faster. Since there are clotting factors that increase clotting, and factors that decrease clotting, everything balances out because K contributes to both.

Anybody feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

Sadly, my hematologist couldn't even give me an answer on this (I have a genetic clotting disorder). Apparently it's not an exact science....

Incidently, I have had gray hairs since my early 20s, and when I was taking wheatgrass I did notice less gray - but not completely. My husband once went on a fish & broccolli kick for months, and his gray hair completely disappeared - at least until he stopped it.

Some theorize wheatgrass and broccolli help SOD which would explain potential reduction of grey hair. I do not eat much broccolli as I have read it may hamper thyroid and I have a sluggish thyroid. But maybe the wheatgrass does too for all I know.
