So they day cavities and such can lead to infections that cause heart disease. Would it be better to get dentures sooner than generally recommended? I mean a single cavity could allow the pathogens in, should we even have teeth as opposed to a surgical steel denture? Are teeth too dangerous to our long term health given that they are generally our first organ failure?

cryonicsculture, we the dentists know from a long time about the fact, that infection from the teeth may spread through the blood vessels and the lymph vessels arround the body. It is called focal infections. In the dental office, where I work, I even have an aparatus for focal diagnostics of teeth, e.g. an aparatus, that may tell if a tooth may produce a focal infection or not. Simmilar ideas like Yours have been discussed in the 60's and the 70's. After all, the worldwide accepted conclusion is that the healthy teeth must not to be extracted, and the decayed teeth have to be extracted only if they can not be treated. Only proven focal infections spreading teeth can be extracted even if they can be treated. Surprisingly, this conclusion is in forse even today, and both the daily dental practice, and the people, who deal with focal diagnostics and treatment of focal infections more confirm, rather than refuse this way of behaviour. So, "profilactically" extracting of all of the teeth is not an acceptable issue. I personally do not advise You to do it.

Heart diseases always have been common. Even today the majority of people die from heart diseases.
The focal infections however, that cause heart diseases are relatively rare. The heart diseases, that kill people today are caused in more than 90% from atherosclerosis and blood clots formation, that are not connected with focal infections. The focal infections, that damage the heart usually cause a condition named endocarditis.
To prevent focal infections from teeth, prevent the caries and the parodontal diseases, e.g. brush Your teeth and treat Your teeth in dental offices while the caries is small.
If You have a tooth, that is proven to be a focus for an infection outside of the mouth You can treat it, but my advice is to pull it out even if it is treatable.

It is sad to see so many people who do not care enough about oral hygiene, or just do not know enough to deal with the issues that have been handed to them.
The core of your body works via eating, which you need teeth for. it is upsetting to see so many people just suffering from daily pain with their teeth let alone even having them worry about their heart health, not even knowing it is or could be as bad as a blood born infection that could cost a life.
