I've stumbled more than once about hints that resveratrol could also lower cholesterol/LDL.
Did anybody taking resveratrol have such an effect and if yes, at what kind of dose?

If you're not already doing so, allow yourself 10 g of saturated fats daily. It may bring up the HDL levels and improve your overall cholesterol risk ratios. I have 10g of saturated fats and about 10-20mg of cholesterol in my diet along with a 4:1 ratio of Omega-6:Omega-3 fatty acids.@scotknl - impossible to separate resveratrol's effects from vegan cron diet and exercise, which could possible have been responsible.
I too have noted no radical change in blood lipids I could attribute to resveratrol. But vegetarian reduces my total cholesterol dramatically, to 160 from slightly above 200. Unfortunately it also reduces my HDL.

Mostly peanut butter, a variety of nuts and seeds and olive oil.Right now I am more concerned with getting my mitochondria regenerated and my brown fat working again.
But thanks. What's your source of saturated fat on a vegan diet? Coconut oil?

Yes, along with regular exercise and a vegan CRON diet (15%Protein, 34%Fats, 51%Carbs) reducing my calories by 30%. I started taking 250 mg resv and had to reduce due to ankle pain. I currently take about 50 mg daily. I don't care which one worked, but my cholesterol numbers normalized.
TC 223->138,
TG 219->50,
HDL 32->56,
LDL 156->73.

Yes in combination with diet, exercise, 10 mg lipitor 3 x week and 1,500 grams of 98% resveratrol daily.
Age 58 Height 6' Weight 172 Chol 152 Tri 140 Glucose 97
I run 4.7 m/h for one hour every other day
Heart rate stationary in the 90's
Full run heart rate is around 137
On the chart my heart rate running is about the equivalent of a 40 year old
I needed a many years to achieve
My lipid profile is one year old June '12, I will be seeing my MD on Monday
I dropped a couple pounds and run faster than last year
