Greetings from Brazil!

I am new to Nootropics but I have been using Piracetam 1600-2400 mgs/day for the past 4 weeks. I enjoyed it, it helps my focus a bit and my overall mood.
Three days ago, I also started taking 40mgs /day of Noopept. I have been feeling tired and getting distracted easily. I was also very hungry last night. I just do not fell wright, even taking it only for a few days.

I have stopped with Noopept this morning, continuing with Piracetam.

I bought 5 g of Noopept from Nexus on e-bay. My “simple” questions are:
  • Should I continue with Noopept? Does it get better?
  • As a beginner, is the correct protocol to try 1 product at a time?
  • My Noopept powder tastes extremely bitter but it does not smell so bad. Is it possible that this product is of low quality?
  • If you can answer that here: How it Nexus as a supplier?
  • Should I quit Piracetam and only take Noopept?
  • Is it common for people to have an adverse reaction to Noopept?
  • What company is a good supplier of Bulk Piracetam?
  • Is there a free iphone app that helps e manage the usage of nootropics?

I have just bought some Pramiracetam, Choline Bitartrate and Sulbultiamine and I will let you know the effects of these sunbstances.

Thanks for your help.

Hey,

40mg/day is way to much for many people.
I would suggest to quit Piracetam and to take only Noopept (10mg/day) for about a week.

It is possible that Noopept is just not the right Nootropic for you (but it is also possible that you got another substance from ebay).

Thanks jonnyD for the great input. I will put aside Noopept for now and go back to it using smaller doses later.
I have bought a few products and I am looking into having a better (a bit more formal) research of these nootropics in my body.

I have:

Piracetam

Choline Bitartrate

Subultiamine

Noopept

Pramiracetam (did not arrive yet)

Has anyone in longecity (or anywhere) define procedures to test effects of different meds in your system? How can I have answers for questions like:

Should I try one not at a time?

How long each?

Is there an app that helps managing all the compounds that I take?

Are there standard tests online that I can take for memory, reasoning, etc ... to see the effects of whatever I am on?

Is "improved mood" strictly subjective?

What I am looking for is better reasoning, better mood and improved memory, in that order. I can safely say that after 28 days using only 1600 mg/day of Piracetam, I get good results. 3 days of Noopept did not feel right for me and 3 days of subultiamine did not either.

I've been using Noopept daily for a little while now, and so far, there have been no negative effects. I fully support daily use, in all honesty.

Are you taking a multivitamin? Eating nutritious food? Remember, unless vegetables are being steamed, they probably aren't nutritionally valuable to any huge degree. I notice I crave a solid meal on noopept if I haven't eaten very good things that day.

I don't trust ebay suppliers. Got scammed once over Pramiracetam. It had the wrong solubility, so who even knows what it was. I go solely through NewStar now. They have a COA posted on the site for each of the products they provide, and judging from the quality of my previous orders, they are top quality in every way. The noopept I got from Ebay was chunky and weird compared to these guys. Yeah, chunky. My new batch is fluffy as can be.

Personally, I try each supplement on its own before combining them. Sometimes I'll do it in the same day, sometimes not. It really depends on the duration of the effects of the compound in question.

Improved mood is subjective to a degree, but there are some valid psychological tests out there. I know this sounds ridiculous, but try looking for the ColorQuiz. You select which color sticks out the most from a choice of eight, and due to whatever reason, it provides an accurate analysis of your current point of view and mood. This is something used be psychologists for eons now. My father used to have a book that described the actual reason it worked, but rest assured, this isn't something arbitrary.

As for memory, play one of those match-up games online. We literally called it Memory when we were kids. You can just lay out an entire deck of cards if you want, into several rows. Time yourself to see how long it takes to clear the entire thing worth of matches. I've done this in the past once or twice. I wish there was a better way. I would love to hear suggestions.

Mental clarity and reasoning, in my opinion, is really well-measured by a simple and repetitive processing game like Tetris. See how far you can get, how many points, etc.

We all hate to admit it, but half the fun of these games of are part luck and part skill. The skill comes from mental ability, and when we can beat someone else's score, we feel more capable. Perhaps we can even apply them to learning how to better ourselves as individuals.

Gnostica

I have a very balanced diet, practically no junk food, wine, once a week, lots of fruits and salads.
As I said, I have been testing with a few different products and I am getting to the conclusion that Choline Bitartrate is what is having a strange effect on me. Do you think that is possible or is that unlikely?

I am going to try ColorQuiz tests and try to formalize “my experiments”.

Thanks for the help!

What dosage are you taking of the Choline?

Just like there's a bell curve of efficacy from the racetams themselves, I think there's a bit of a bell curve when taking choline alone with them, and as far as Noopept goes specifically, I find no additional benefit from supplementation. At one point, I was taking 400-500mg with my Piracetam and started noticing an sort of vertigo or swimming in my head for a solid hour, albeit subtle. Optimal dose seems to be about 150mg for me, though I've seen more than a few people saying a general +250mg range.

There's always the possibility that you could cut out the choline entirely due to sufficient dietary sources. As I'm sure you already know, eggs are a great source of choline, but a solid diet will generally provide you with a good amount. Grains, beans, spinach.

You are probably correct. Looking back, I was exaggerating in my dosage of Choline Bitartrate. I was taking 800 mgs/day.I eat 2 eggs every morning also, another 250 mgs and a decent portion of beans and grains.

Since I stopped with the extra choline and gone back to only 20 mgs of Noopept, the awkward feeling, blurriness and light dizziness have disappeared. However, so far I have been getting get better overall results for simple Piracetam.

Personally, I'd still try more Noopept now that there's a reduction of choline. MAN, that is a lot of choline...

I was taking a ration of 2 x 1, Piracetam x Choline. I just went back to Noopept, 20 mgs/day. I plan to "build"a simple stack in the next 3 month.

Hey Marlus,

I would love to know how things went for you with your "simple stack". For me, noopept didn't work that well either, and just like you I overdid it with the choline to maybe compensate for this, which of course backfired on me. -_- ( been taking it for a week now with mixed to little results, maybe it's too early to tell.)

It really takes a lot of patience to test out a single noot for two weeks, which is when noopept should show beneficial effects at the latest...

Anyways, got my piracetam today and threw that in the mix (20mg noopept this morning, plus 250mg of alcar and coline bitatrate plus 1,4g piracetam an hour ago)
I'm allready feeling the piracetam clearing my head a bit...
I plan on taking max 30mg of noopept and 4,8g of piracetam daily - have you had the chance to combine both? And if so, how did it work out compared to soloing each one?

Best regards, Chris

Hi Chris,

I have taken a few substances alone (piracetam, noopept, subultiamine and pramiracetam,) as well as combining them in a number of ways and dosages.

My conclusion from these 7 weeks experimentation: taking piracetam alone gives me the best results. Just as it did for you, piracetam “clears my mind” and leaves me in a better mood. However, piracetam is the only product I bought as a real medication, in form of pills. Here it is called nootropil. All of the other nootropics I have bought bulk, usually from Nexus(ebay).

I take 2 x 800 mgs piracetam daily. I am waiting for my bulk piracetam to arrive in the mail and I will start taking much higher dosages.

I will keep you posted as to what happens. In the mean time, I have quite of few grams of noopept, prami, subultiamine and choline bitartrate that I will my dump in the trash.

Cheers!

by dumping in trash you mean experimenting with different combinations for different situations? come on, man, i'm sure that stuff can be useful, based on what you do during the day and based on what effect you want. I like to make different stacks for different effects. though i can't say i'm in noots for long, from what i understand, prami noopept, choline, subultiamine all should have different, but still some interesting effects. noopept for me didn't work as planed for study aid as it made me easily distracted, but i find it useful for social interaction and some activities. besides, lots of people here propagate taking noopept in small dosages (10-20mg) for a longer period of time so if you take piracetam daily, why not just give it a shot and take it with piracetam for some weeks and then decide? prami and solbutamine should also be a bit stimulating, surely that is good for some things ;)

hope i gave you some ideas ;)

Hey Jurassic,

Thanks for the ideas. I am going to try Noopept again, 2 x 10mg /daily, fro a more extended period of time. Do you know if most people have to take prami and subultiamine continuously to get the full effects?

Well, my noopept is allmost empty, and while I still have enough for a few days at 20mg per day, I won't order more....

Really getting into the whole neuro-science/brain metabolism - thing now and doing a lot of research online... I really want to understand how my symptoms are neurologically grounded, so I can better judge which compound might be worth trying next, or which one's to avoid... It's an incredible huge and complex field of science, but I'm slowly getting the basics at least...

Anyhow - so far a combination of Pira and Oxi with Alcar and Choline-B (maybe NALT, can't really say if it provodes any real benefits), as well as sometimes modafinil shows some pretty good results...
I will completely ditch Prami and Ani, too.

Waiting for my CDP Choline, as well as Nefiracetam, and Sunifiram - will report back how those work in a few days....

Chris,

I probably have about 5 gs of Noopept. I am trying it again this week but the only evident effect I get is blurry vision. Is that common?

Do the effect of Noopept take time and continuous use to arrive?

I may try Prami again ( I have plenty left) and Subultiamine.

I will report back …

Hey Marlus.

I couldn't tell you if blurry vision is common, but I don't think so. Like I said, it became hard for me to judge the effects of Noopept, sinve i was stacking other stuff on top.
It's entirely possible that a longer period of time taking lower doses of just Noopept alone would have brought better results, but for now I don't have the patience.

I guess I will try it again sometime, but only after figuring out the more basic racetams. It is, by the way, woth a try to see if CDP-Choline or Alpha GPC work better for you than choline bitatrate. I know some people don't need choline supplementation at all, but it turned out for me that 250 mg CDP Choline along with my racetam-combo make it work far better than with no choline or with choline-bitatrate.

Right now I'm experimenting with low doses of Pira (800mg), Prami (200mg) and Nefi (50mg) combined with 250mg CDP Choline, and it works very well.

Since it seems to me that a "good" Choline source like CDP or GPC allows me to to take lower single doses of my Noots, I guess 5mg noopept plus 250mg CDP would be interesting to try sometime...

Hey Marlus

i'm from brazil too , i order some noopept from ebay and will arrive at my home on 27 july, like you and many others i was reading a lot of information, particulary from Longecity , by the way ;) , and i hope noopept doesn't disapoint me

i am currently taking 4.8g of piracetam ( nootropil ) and on the first week was amazing , boost my memory, increase my learning , but now i feel the effect of piracetam but not too intense like on the first week, i have to say that, on the first time i took piracetam (400 mg) i felt an increase on memory, learning and other good things , like beautiful colors and music was the best thing , but i dont know if now my organism is out of acetilcholine or something, i'am waiting to see if noopept will do the same as piracetam on the first day

anyway congrats for starting this good thread :)

Yonamine

Thanks for the reply!

Currently I am just taking Piracetam, 2 x 800mgs a day. The results are subtle but I enjoy it. I seem to get side effects like headaches and blury vision from just about everything else. I also had best results with Nootropil instead of bulk Piracetam.

I can understand you getting your best results in the first days/weeks but I think you should stick to it. Also, let me know how Noopept goes for you. My experience with it was fine, but I have to take it in low dosages, 2 x 20 mgs / day.

Cheers
