A friend told me that there are no true natual resveratrol 98% in China, all the products on the market is synthetic or mixed as natural. So anyone knows how to distinguish synthetic resveratrol, giant knotweed resveratrol and mixed "natural"resveratrol(including synthetic and gian knotweed)?

It could possibly be done by chromatographic determination of the type and distribution of impurities in the sample. But I am not aware of anyone having researched this method. I am told early samples of 'synthetic' (actually produced by genetically modified bacteria) showed a high, as much as 10 percent. presence of unknown impurities, which were not identified (according to Anthony, who paid for tests.)

It should be possible for a lab that has samples of known synthetic, and known plant extract, to determine this by HPLC analysis. But I know of no one doing this.
