It doesn't distinguish between child-onset castrates, adolescent onset castrates or adult onset castrates. At what age would the benefits of castration be negligible?

You should try it and report any benefits! But seriously, what's the point of living if you can't bust any nuts? Correct me if I'm wrong.

If the reason for that life elongation is the absence of the testosterone hormone, then if someone wants to use that for life elongation, he has to castrate himself whlie a child, before reaching the puberty. This corresponds also with the theory, that slowing down the sexual maturacy can elongate life. Castrating after the age of 60 - 70 will not work, because of the small amounths of hormones produced anyway.

Here are some citations:
"eunuchs lived to an average age of 70"

What is the point for castrating Yourself and never having children, in order NOT to reach 90 ?

You don't need to cut anything off - they have drugs these days, which is probably a more effective approach anyways given that the adrenal glands also produce testosterone.

OP will probably suggest to cut the adrenal glands as well.

They lived to an average age of 70 back in the 13 century. Isn't that impressive? So you're saying that after puberty testosterone has already done "it's damage" so to speak and a lack of testosterone after puberty wouldn't positively effect lifespan?

My thought, that castrating may help only reaching 70 is based entirely on my interpretation of the results, so it may be wrong.
Here is what I base it on:
In my oppinion the medicine in 1805 is not a qualitive medicine, infact according to me it is not a medicine at all, so the medical factor on the length of the life of the people in that time can be ignored.
The study compares people, who lived in simmilar conditions "of a similar socio-economic background" so the social an economical factors are equalised.
So ... it leaves only the castration fact, that elongates the life.
So, I interpret the results like this: Without a qualitive medical help, and in equal socio - economic conditions, castration may help You reach 70.

I can only suppose, that the effect of the castration is based on the absence of the testosterone. I think so, bacause from the products, that the testicles produce, I know only one, that affects directly and indirectly the whole body, and this is the testosterone. It can be supposed, that the hormone plays a very important role in the reproduction - a known fact, but also is a factor, that shortens Your life (a supposing, that came to my mind when reading this, and that possibly the authors of the study show as a result).
It is true, that I definately can not say if the testosterone has done some damage once, during the puberty by unlocking an unknown mechanism, or it causes a small and prolongated damage during the whole life. However, it unlocks the majority of the changes in the body during the puberty, and only supports them from then on.

The fact of the matter is that it was a genocide. People died and their DNA is no longer with us, our genetic diversity has been limited. They lived longer on average than their peers because they came from wealthy families who had decided they shouldn't breed due to what they considered personality defects or selfishness or somesuch and that their wealth would be better spent on their other children while this one was left in a monastery. It was what we today call eugenics, except it was worse being that the targets of it never stood a chance and believed that they would go to heaven despite their wealthy socialite families knowing for a fact that there was no life for someone after their heart stopped beating.

We shouldn't even consider this data. It should be locked away like the data from cruel Nazi experiments.

I honestly love this. Adrenal glands will still produce some level of testosterone, disregarding whether an individual has balls or not.

Well men gain a greater benefit from going vegan than women do.
