Hello everyone. This is my first post here and i have couple of questions to ask :)
I am 21 old male. Currently i am with bad health - a lot of brain fog, can't concentrate , alck of lbiido and low erection quality.
I tried a lot of adoptogens.I am currently on ashwaghanda and i got a lot of weird dreams and my erection quality was low today. Anyone have an idea why is this happening ? I read in a lot of places that this herb is like a miracle for other people :(

The thing that bothers me is that i am feeling worse when i am taking stuff which must help me with brain fog and libido ( like vitamins, calming herbs, rhadiola, ginseng, herbs that suppose to enchance libido and a lot of other things, l-arginine, ALA, nootropics, l-carnitine).

I am desperate people i almost droped out of college this semester and if i drop out my life will become hell :( my parents do not understand my situation, they think that i am lazy but the real reason for my grades is my brain fog :(:(

Thanks i am open for advices :\

I would try straight L tyrosine, while it is not necessarily the answer for the long haul it may give an indication of the nature of your issues.

The issue with alot of supplements are they either have side effects of they magnify other issues. For if one is borderline hypothyroid carnitine may make them feel even worse.

Btw, if you are having libido issues the last thing you need it "calming herbs."

The whole idea of "adaptogens" is a pseudoscientific one. There are no "smart" supplements that decide once they are in your body, well, he's a bit low on cortisol and high on norepinephrine, so let's increase the former and decrease the latter. Stated like this, the whole idea sounds laughable, because it is.

My experience with adaptogens is the same. The big problem for me is that they interfere with something else I am taking. There is a benefit, but so far, the losses are not worth it.

I had a similar problem last year. I went to the doctor over and over and he said nothing was wrong. I ask him to check my ACTH levels. It was close to 0. I think that was because I was give a shot in my hip, a shot in my shoulder and put on Meridian Pack for Sinus problems. This was done by different doctors and I believe shut of my ACTH Levels. The shots were for easing pain.

Try modafinil + memantine for tolerance. If you're prone to anxiety, the memantine will also help with that. I once dropped out of college because of bad brain fog, and with that combo I'm now back to college and able to function.

Go to a doctor! Get some blood tests - a hormone panel for starters. Trying out different supplements is a total crap-shoot. Your future is too important to entrust to an internet forum.

If all else fails, maybe try exercise. Cycling is my thing, and I find that if I get out for an hour or two and just ride, think of nothing in particular but put the body through its paces, then mental quality is very good for a couple of days after.

All sorts of studies corroborate, and I could come up with some theories why, but whatever the reason it does seem to work. I also take rhodiola, cordyceps and piracetam, but regular quality exercise is probably the most essential thing, and preceded all the rest.

Ashwaganda didn't agree with me. It put me into a stupor and did nothing for me otherwise. Ginseng isn't usually what young people would be given by a Chinese herbalist. Typically it does more good for people who are middle-aged or above. Nothing agrees with everyone. There are different types of metabolisms.

Something is clearly wrong and taking random supplements doesn't seem like a likely cure. Someone your age shouldn't be having these type of sexual problems. You should go to a good MD and have a thorough work up. Tell him or her the truth about your habits, diet and lifestyle, including any drug, tobacco and alcohol use. If you take those things, they might be the problem. Undiagnosed diabetes is another possibility. Any unusual health regimens should be discussed with the doctor: fasting, cleanses, heavy exercise, unusual diets, whatever supplements you are taking.

When you are through with the doctor, you might want to look into what Chinese Medicine has to say about healthy diet and lifestyle. I have a thread about it here:

Good luck.

I second this!
I use rhodiola made by NOW foods but I received some freebies with my last order and it was Adapt 232. Amazing stuff!!!

This will be for sure my next purchase. Funny, I have relatives in Sweden, but here is less expensive:

John Carter I had replied earlier about that same problem. It was ACTH levels, they were extremely low when I was tested. Not sure if it was because I had received cortisone for my hip and arm and then had Meridian prescribed for sinus, this could have shut down that whole loop.
