I have some anxiety/OCD symptoms (floating anxiety, racing thoughts, chest tightness, occasional heart palpitations, intermittent insomnia) and there's also a history of bipolar in my family (my mom's BPII). I was wondering if Lithium can help with my issues.

Things I have tried for anxiety that didn't help:
-Rhodiola
-Bacopa
-Theanine
-Meythlfolate (I felt like it made my anxiety even worse)
-Uridine

So I am suspecting that the symptoms I have now could be some form of mild bipolar although I don't have depression or even hypomania/mania.

Has anyone here been using lithium orotate on regular basis and have benefited from it?

Thanks!

Lithium and Inositol fight each other, and Inositol (18g split in three dosages for 6+ weeks) is what usually helps with OCD. Lithium helps with Bipolar Disorder. Aniracetam and Noopept help with anxiety.

"[...] I was wondering if Lithium can help with my issues.", honestly, just give it a try - there's too much bio-chemical individuality in play to give a good guess as to whether it is going to work for you or not. All the same, my own experience with Lithium Orotate (have taken 2.5mg for a month in the past and occasional 5mg doses) points to fairly subtle yet substantial anxiolytic effects. Also, a good bout of therapy is never a bad idea (in whatever form possible) - our subconscious can fairly easily wreck havoc on our chemical profile and if that's going on then drugs are only ever going to be temporarily effective.

Lithium orotate gave me severe (and I do mean severe) brain fog and short-term memory loss at 2.5-5mg doses. After I stopped using it it took me a few days to get back to baseline.
I have found Moclobemide to be fairly effective for social anxiety.

It may help with anxiety, but it will probably significantly dampen mood as well. The problem with Orotate is that (or at least so I hear) it actually does build up and takes a while to do so. It isn't something that you can take situationally, so you will have to weight the cost of constantly flattened mood to the benefits of reduced anxiety. It could be beneficial, but it depends on the nature of your anxiety and how much you value your mood.

I envy the fact that this was given to you.

Meditation, cut out cafffiene, eat healthy, exercise helps. Valerian, Niacin might help for your anxiety.

For anxiety with a family history of bipolar, valproate can be a surprisingly effective drug, even at low doses like 250mg per day or 500mg per day.

I've been experimenting with 5-10mg of Lithium at night for the past couple of weeks. It's good for focus and settling down to sleep (sometimes 10mg knocks me out completely) .. but the hangover, particularly on 10mg, is just too much.

One weird thing I've been noticing, however, is that I'm quite a bit more 'up'/hyperactive from mid-late afternoon onwards. Has anyone here experienced any kind of next-day rebound on Lithium Orotate?
