I have been experimenting with some Aniracetam over the last few days. Initially it just made me tired, I guess I could feel the beginnings of some sort of beneficial effect but honestly I cannot rule out placebo so far. I'm on my second day now and my 4th dose and finally I feel like I can sort of appreciate the effects.

I seem to respond well to Piracetam anyway but the main reason I wanted to try Aniracetam was for its purported anxiolytic and social benefits. I have read before that some drowsiness is common but will usually subside following repeated dosing. So my question is how long exactly does this usually take?

Now in fact the drowsiness is much less pronounced although I would hesitate to completely rule it out yet.

I would also be interested to hear about Aniracetam's duration of action - from what I understand the half life of Ani is much shorter than the other racetams, yet it's actual effects are (supposedly) not equivalently short in duration. I have read some things that seem to suggest this is due to the activity of the metabolites which persist beyond this short half life.

I'm not expecting anyone to give me a clear and lucid breakdown of what exactly is going on from a neurological perspective but would appreciate any anecdotal reports of the duration of action. I don't feel I can really judge from my own experience just yet.

As usual I have been someone unscientific in my experimentation and have blended some things together but it was on my 4th dose overall (2nd dose today) of probably around 1g of Ani, 4 hours after a smaller dose of maybe 500mg (from which I experienced only really drowsiness and brain fog) when I finally felt like I felt something good from this chemical. I dosed relatively quickly after my initial dose partly out of frustration and partly thinking perhaps some attack dose was necessary - I began experimentation with this after a week long break from all nootropics so that may also have played a part... in any case this final paragraph is not really any definite question, but any comments at all on your own experiences with Aniracetam and how they relate to mine are welcome nonetheless.

Thanks for reading.

OK well after initially thinking I'd sorted the dosing I redosed yesterday and almost fell asleep on a bus.

This morning dosed less but again still that annoying drowsiness and brain fog. I think I am just going to give up on this chemical, my current workload means I really cannot afford to be wasting hours just zoning out. It's a shame because some people seem to be saying great things about the anxiolytic effects but I have tried it for 3 days now and haven't really noticed anything groundbreaking, quite the opposite in fact, at least for the vast majority of the time.

It's interesting, for me neither aniracetam or pramiracetam really stack up to piracetam or oxiracetam in any way, despite supposedly being the more "powerful" racetams.

I guess my main issue is I am trying to build the "perfect" stack which probably just doesn't exist.

I am curious how anyone who does experience initial drowsiness using the fat soluble racetams ever gets over it because I can't imagine going a whole week feeling totally spaced out for several hours every day before the good effects kick in.

Anyway, again, any comments are welcome.

No one has experienced drowsiness from aniracetam before eh? ;)

Oh well again hopefully some people can benefit from my experience. After almost completely giving up on this chemical I dosed a smaller amount yesterday on my final dose of the day, along with 10mg of Noopept, having resumed my usual regimen that morning (800mg Pi + Oxi + 10mg Noopept). For once I hardly felt drowsy, which might have something to do with the fact my dose was only 400mg compared to the larger amounts I had been dosing previously.

This morning I dosed 10mg Noopept as usual with NO racetams (I am starting to feel like I am getting reduced benefit from them, and I have always felt Noopept is sort of the anchor of my stack anyway), then 4 hours later thought may as well try again with the Ani. This time I dosed even less, around 300mg, and this dose has been pretty good.

I am measuring with a 100mg scoop which obviously is not ideal. Also half an hour later I added 800mg Oxi (just because I am a bit of a nootropic junkie at the moment I suppose, also to combat any potential residual drowsiness). In any case though I think reduced dosages is the key with Aniracetam for me. I may consider combining it with Oxi long term and replacing Piracetam in my usual stack.

Would be interested to hear people's experiences with combinations of these 3 (or 4, included noopept) chemicals.
