< I copied this over to the brain-health section, it seems more fitting there. Sorry for double-post, mods! Feel free to delete this one! >_< >

Hey everyone,

first of, a tiny bit of back story to put what I'm going to write in perspective.. As some of you may know I suffer from ADD or ADD-PI rather, though the root of my problems may actually be a sleep disorder caused by severe apnea (will finally be tested this month).

So I have huge problems with wakefullness and motivation, it's pretty much Ahedonia all the time.

Now in the past what has worked for me:
  • - Ritalin - but discontinued because of harsh side-effects, no matter which form or brand I took
  • - "regular" Amphetamine, - as in "DL-Amphetamine" or racemic Amphetamine - worked somewhat stimulating
  • - Coffeine
  • - Modafinil - works like a charme, esp. with L-Theanine, but needs to be cycled due to tollerance
  • - Rhodiola Rosea - works moderately well in promoting wakefullness for a few days
  • - Q10, Vit D, Maca,
    Spirulina, Magnesium
Zinc, EGCG, Omega 3 - "Basic stack", makes me feel better all around and I notice when I skip it.
What hasn't worked for me:
  • - Dexamphetamine - oddly enough, unlike DL-Amph, this made me very sleepy. Except very high doses
  • - UMP Uridine - this too made me tired, even though I may have quit too soon (after a couple of days)
  • - various Racetams - too inconsistent, sometimes little effect sometimes none at all, sometimes more foggy
  • - SJW - made all my symptoms worse, felt more tired and groggy all the time
Now here's the thing:

It's odd enough that Dexamphetamine makes me tired even in moderate doses. But then again I've heard from a few people that it can have this effect.
It also made me conscider that my sleeping disorder might actually be more severe than I was thinking, since Amphetamines might make you feel relaxed, which can put a sleep deprived brain right into sleepy-mode.

However, I don't understand how Selegeline, which is basically a MAO-B Inhibitor, can make me sleepy as shit. Especially since I've never read any anecdotal reports claiming this, ever.

It's allways more in the lines of "be carefull this tuff is really strong!", or " 1,25mg every other day was more than enough for me!"

Now I've been taken it for five days consecutively, starting with 2,5mg twice daily, working my way up to 5mg twice daily.
I know 10mg/day is the high end, but it's also what the package insert suggests.
Still it only makes me feel groggy and really tired for at least a few hours. Oftentimes I would lie down in my bed and go straight to sleep.

Can anyone make sense of that? Should i continue taking it? I've heard that it may take a few weeks to show effect, but never have i read anywhere that it can make one too tired to function till then. It basically renders my "basic stack" (see above) useless. I actually even feel more tired than when I don't take anything at all.

I should also add that I wasn't on any stims for weeks (except my "basic stack") when I started the Jumex a few days ago - so it can't be tapering off something or drug interactions either.

I would really apreciate any help or advise - as it is now I'll probably have to write it off and quit allready, cause I can't afford to be that sedatet and sleepy for weeks...
