I'm a new fan of nootropics. I have used Huperzien A in the past and currently Phosphatidylserine and Vinpocetine. Once this cycle is done I am getting on the "real" thing by using Piracetam with some Choline, as I read those 2 are synergistic. I'd step up to Hydergine some day as well. Anyway what medium do you all use when taking bulk powdered supplements? I use tin foil as the powders do not stick. I had tried using a sandwich plastic wrap or ziplock type of medium but some of the powders do stick to plastic cellophane type of medium, So far foil is working fine. I had tried paper towels before but the powders do stick to the paper as well. I buy my bulk powders from health supplement wholesalers. The best prices I have seen so far.

What do you mean by medium? The medium I use is water.

I make my own multipowder. I mix a couple months at one time. I use a pre-cut scoop, dump it in a small glass of water and drink it. Or, I might dump the powder directly in my mouth, and then take a drink.

Medium as in what material do you use to dump your powders after you had measured it on your gram scale. I use foil as the powder don't seem to stick to it. With your way, I think some powders will stick on the glass or cup. You probably won't lose much in milligrams, probably less than 1 mg or so. You dump the powder from gram scale to your mouth?

I thought anything "acidic" drink should be avoided with certain drugs? I was told avoid cranberry juice when taking a medication or supplement as it is acidic and it will also "flush" out toxins, and that includes the drug that was just taken.

The grape fruit juice warning with certain medications is the result of the inhibition of a certain digestive enzyme, in effect bypassing first pass metabolism; i.e. benzodiazepines and certain opiates will be greatly potentiated if you take GFJ prior to ingestion. Be careful with this combination.

Antacids will also potentiate and prolong the effects of certain drugs as well, as the drug will sit in your stomach longer and take its time digesting, passing through your body at a slower rate, and thus enabling you to absorb more of the initial dose.

anyone here have a clue how I can conveniently bring bulk powder with me while at work? I am working longer hours now. I plan on taking 18 g of inositol split 3x daily. Upon waking up would be one, before going to bed would be two. The 3rd dose would have to be at work. How do I bring the 6 g of inositol powder with me? I wish I could find some type of medium to place these powder so I can take it on the go. I was looking to find a "giant capsule" thing not meant to be swallowed but to put the powder in. Something I can open and close safely and re-usable. Any ideas?

A 1oz wide-mouth Nagele bottle is good for traveling and is ok for pockets.
There's these with a wider mouth, but they don't fit in a pocket as well.
More often I use a snap close bottle. But, they don't work in pockets, only in a bag, since they can open if knocked or squeezed too hard.

ok this is informative thanks. Does your powder melt a bit when placed in those mediums? I know some powders are kinda sticky. I won't be using sticky powders but only inositol since I'd be taking higher dose of it split 3x daily.

Mine doesn't melt or get sticky, no. Acetyl-L-Carnitine can get funky, but I take such a small dose of that, it just gets lost in all the other ingredients.

Head shops sell small metal "bullets" which are capsules for holding "powder" in them. Think of something the shape of a 9mm round with a screw off top

Thats your best bet

It really depends on what supplments you're talking, primarily whether they are water or fat soluable, or specially processed to dissolve easily. For some, water is fine. For others, juice would be better. Some dissolve best in warmer fluids. Alcohol for still others. Liquids with fat like milk, dairy or soy or almond, though I hear sometimes that something in soy blocks a bit of protein absorption so don't use it for proteins, amino acids just in case.

Look up each of your powders.

Me personally, the ones that are a pain to dissolve I just dump the scoop right in my mouth and chase it down with whatever is appropriate. Nasty but over much more quickly.

I have some empty amber glass bottles of varying sizes hanging around because I mix my own ejuice, so I just used one of those to carry extra powders in. The smaller sizes are the exact same type of bottles my noots from NewStar came in, so I figured it was alright. You can get them online from a variety if places dirt cheap.

Does everyone here basically measure out there stuff on a scale? I was debating the possilibity of buiying bulk powders in a ratio. I.E. something like Noopept 10 mg/ CTD-Choline 250 mg/Galantamine 2 mg/ xxmg pramiracetam

Buy a larger container and dump all into one and mix over the course of a couple days. Part of me thinks this could prove to be very ineffecient but then I think about actuall manufactuered powdered supplements and wonder if the doses change scoop to scoop? Dno...someone have input here?

I think it would have to be mixed thoroughly. Some people I read about have used ziplock bags. Not sure how thoroughly it mixes powders evenly. After I measure using the gram scale I dump mine on wax paper or foil sheets then take it.

I've seen small ziplock bags. Not sure if that would help.
