Is there a connection between SIRT1 and telomerase?

I am really a newbie on all this and I was just wondering if there is a connection between these two aging related therapies.

It depends. This study says SIRT1 has a positive effect on telomerase expression in vivo in mice:

This older study found just the opposite. That SIRT1 deficiency stimulates telomerase expression. But that finding was in HeLa cervical cancer cells in vitro:
