Hi

I have had problems with obsessive and intrusive thoughts about negative comments that people have made about me, I have a tenancy to go over and over things in mind which has lead to a background noise of over analysing thoughts that gets me down and gets in the way of my enjoyment of life.

I was given sertraline to take by my doctor which I have been taking for the last 3 months but after reading various statements online about peoples problems with withdrawal and side effects I have decided to stop taking the sertraline and pursue some more natural methods to alleviate my symptoms.

I have problems with insomnia and DPSD, and general energy levels and motivation. I also have problems with my body image and think that I have BDD. I think that I am also slightly OCD, and have Social Anxiety and moderate depression.

I have taken Ecstasy on 3 occasions in the past and I am worried that this has effected my brain chemistry in a negative way along with some heavy Occasional Cannabis use in the past, and minor use of low doses of Cocaine, and occasional alcohol use. I have also tried Ketamine but only on one occasional and a small dose, along with some use of Nitrous oxide.

Because of this I am also interested in supplements that can help to repair the brain and stimulate growth.

The sertraline did seem to help my symptoms but I am concerned with long term damage to my brain from taking this drug in the long term.

From what ive read ive noted several supplements and drugs known to help with my symptoms.

Initially I have started taking st Johns wort as I want to upregulate my serotonin receptors after them being downregulated through taking an SSRI.

I plan on supplementing this with 5-HTP, L-phenylalanine, and DHEA.

I also am interested in taking the following substances but I am unsure of how well these will mix and if mixing them could cause problems like serotonin syndrome and other side effects.

Piracetam, lecithin, Vitamin B6, Kanna, Ginko-Biloba, Rhodiola Rosea, Citicoline, SAM-e, Picmilon, Inositol, Bacopa, Alcar, Ashwagandha, EGCG, curcumin, Gotu Kola, Kratom.

Also these drugs sound like they could be of benefit:

selegine, Tianeptine, rasagiline.

Any advice on the best combination of these would be great.

Thanks

I thought this would be the best website for this topic where I would get some good replies, but I've got more replies at the drugs forum than here. Thanks
