I really think that you are basing your entire explanation of what happened to you off the OP's post which is flawed in it's entirety.
I reached the "hypothalamus conclusion" independenly from him, I haven't been influenced by his research one bit.
If anything, piracetam was beneficial in your case as it seems like you are a heavy drinker ('Plenty of beer').
I am the furthest thing from a heavy drinker you'll ever meet, aclohol depresses me. It just happened so that night, I was under alot of peer pressure.
Your statement about modafinil is incorrect, just because it is "active in the hypothalamus" does not mean that it is beneficial to the hypothalamus. What if it's action at various ligands in the hypothalamus induces oxadative stress? I'm not saying that it does, just illustrating that your justification for using modafinil does not make much sense.
The fact, that modafinil is helping me cannot be incorect, because I can feel the difference myself. I've never said, neither meant it's beneficial for the hypo, I just said it's active in there, I don't know exactly what it does there (except for boosting orexin).
I know my post is going to come off as a bit harsh, but I just want to reassure you that piracetam likely is not the culprit, so stop worrying!
I am not worried, I am desperate now. This thing is VERY real and it has neuroanatomical/neruochemical causes and it was caused by piracetam, PERIOD.
Look, I know that my claims go against heavy research, but it's reality. Maybe I'm an unique case, maybe not. My twitching problems are certainly not unique and I haven't seen them mentioned in the literature ( correct me if I'm wrong). I've seen at least 5 cases online of people having long term brief muscle twitching from piracetam, have even talked to some people about it. I can link them if you want.
Best,
Steve
