I'm hoping others will chime in with their own suggestions or comments about my suggestions. I have a few which seem like winners but I'm doubtful they will be taken.

1. Make it so that when someone clicks on a thread, they are taken to the last unread post. Many other forums have this feature.

2. Make the text fit within the viewer's screen. I admit few sites have this feature but its a good one.

3. Move the ad bar from its horrible placement on the side to top or bottom.

I know the last one has been suggested and shot down. I can't see the downside of moving it so one last flog on that dead horse. As an alternative, give paying members a break and move it for them. That simple strategy might increase subscribers substantially, you never know. I would consider paying for that since its chinese torture to have to scroll slowly down to avoid the bar. If it was combined with text fitting screen I would subscribe for sure. Anyone else have an opinion?

Thanks for offering suggestions, but I have to insist that they be offered on a one-issue-per-thread basis.

I have an eye on this sub-forum, and I don't find it manageable otherwise.  The thread has already been pruned.

You may want to take them into 'ideas' this sub-section is more about actual live technical issues.

Quickly.

1) On next to the thread level is the date of the last post. A click takes you directly there. We might look into a button or something to make this clearer.

However, the forum should remember where you have been up to and take you to that entry upon clicking the thread title.

2) This should already be happening (based on your browser settings), but images or strangely formatted textbooks can interfere with this.

3) There is nothing in that bar that is an ad, but thanks for realising that you are not the first person to complain about this. Please find a thread that deals with this and add your suggestions there.
