I didn't notice this message earlier. Great link. Thought-provoking. I wonder why it has to be confined to "sentient beings of human-level or greater intelligence"? One of our roles as posthumans should be guardianship over those of lesser intelligence, including human-level. What that guardianship should entail is of course up for debate.
