While researching Astragaloside IV I have found an interesting article regarding its use in hair loss:

I am curios if anyone had any experience with application of Astragaloside IV in prevention of hair loss?

Interesting paper.  Those were fairly low concentrations of A4 that they used- one and one hundred micromolar, applied topically once a day.  It would be a pretty cheap experiment to run, but I wonder if their mouse model had anything in common with androgenic alopecia?

I don't know, but this paper says that AIV water solubility is 22ug/ml, which is about 30 micromolar.  The paper looked at 1 and 100 micromolar.  From looking at the structure, I'd expect it to be a lot more soluble in ethanol than in water.
