physical attractiveness ?
People may care more about losing their pa than dying an horrible death.
Pa is linked to social acceptance, and we are very social creatures.
No ?

Yes, especially women.
Women are subjected to serious aesthetic surgeries with consequences on the quality of life for a younger aperentar (also some men).

equaly men and women
Statistics of American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery shown that 90% of aesthetic treatments are for women and just 10% for men.
Increase of aesthetic treatments from 1997 to 2012 was 252% in women and just 106% in men.

Yes but attractiveness is more important for men than for women in every stage of life, and equally in the mating area.

You mean that men care more about women attractive, that women about men attractive?

No i mean each sex care equally - a lot.
For men, attractiveness matter for friendship, respect and salary. If women go for 'rich' men, it's because attractive men earn more money in the first place.
For women, attractiveness is not important in most area, except a little for salary. But still, attractiveness is linked to acceptance and popularity in both sex. Again, more for men.
In other words, beauty is much more important in life for men than it is for women.

For women, only weakly with salary.
Interesting theory
Maybe, in different countries it could change slightly between men and women.

I think this maybe because men dont age the same way like women.
Men dont have to worry about cellulitis (is that the right one?) and the skin loosing shape, male weight gain is different and doesnt ruin your appearence that fast, and hair loss isnt that horrible anymore since you can just shave your head and pretend to be cool like Bruce Willis :-)
