There were some studies done with dogs and cats..
It's been awhile since I read them, I could probably find them if nobody believes me..
..anyway one group of dogs was given only 1min long microwaved water and the other regular water for several weeks.
The dogs drinking only nuked water started losing hair and having other issues within a few weeks.
I don't use a microwave...

1 min water? That I have a hard time believing. Please do find the research.

Use instant oats, they're no worse for you that 5-minute oats.  I boil water and add to the oats.  The brand I use is either Quaker, or preferably, Old Wessex.  I never use a nuker, as it does lower the benefit of foods, and denatures protein.

You can use Scharffen Berger unsweetened cocoa powder, which doesn't require melting.  It's the best pure cocoa I've found.

There are many places that sell whole beans or nibs, such as:
http://www.stoneandgiacomotto.com/
And their trail mix is amazingly delicious and healthy.

Actually, the less instant the better I think, if not for nutrition then perhaps freshness or processedness or thermic effect or something.

See, that's the trouble with rumors. You get stories like this and no research, no links, nothing to back it up. How in hell could MR hurt water? This I would like to hear. The other argument was that it hurt protiens and nutrients. I still have seen no evidence by any credible source that it hurts these ingredients more so than ordinary heat does. Are we to eat everything raw then? Why is ordinary cooking good and MR cooking bad? We need proof.

Instant oats have a high glycemic index and I can't imagine why he is recommending them. If 5 minute are no better, then stick to slow cooking. I put them in a pan over very low light and let them cook slowly (comes out fine) while I meditate and shower. You might be able to put them in thermous with bioling water and sit overnight.

About hot cocoa, seeing as my source of white tea has dried up, I have decided to drink hot cocoa instead. Green tea and white tea, are shown (at least with FDA preliminary studies) to not reduce the risk of cancer. That is not to say we should not all continue to drink green and white tea, there are numerous health benefits despite any FDA studies showing the contrary. What does the FDA know anyways? The big lurksome beast is far behind many of us Immortalists, that it is pathetic! My source of hot cocoa comes from a store called Food Basics. I buy 300 grams for $3.00 (now I get a feeling of how much 500 g of piracetam is at a cost of $20.00, very inexpensive). The cocoa is housebrand, but there is also a Master's Choice labeled brand for $3.47 at same number of grams. Are people getting similar prices here? Or am I winning, or losing out?

you must be canadian [lol]. those prices sound good to me. i just bought some of the master's choice a week ago, i felt like it was a reasonable price...i certainly didn't look anywhere else. hope i'm not going to get slammed for being ignorant. [thumb]

You do have a good point though. On the other hand, microwaving has never been analyzed for the effects it has on food in a proper scientific forum before being allowed use by the public. Considering it uses radiation and such a strange way of cooking (unlike fire which has been used for millenia) I'd say it should be worth looking into.

Especially when supported by the mentioned incidences in referenced articles.
