Hi,
I'm wondering if anyone has any experience using the BrainHQ software? I appreciate that there is a lot of scepticism surrounding brain training games in general, but this one claims to have 'over 100 studies' supporting its efficacy, and was founded by Dr Michael Merzenich, who's supposedly an expert in the field of neuroscience.

I'm already practising meditation, learning a new language, and playing N-back daily, but I was looking for a more enjoyable form of brain training to add to my routine - something to help blow off some steam when I've got a spare hour or so, whilst also providing some benefits. I've played a few of the games as part of a free sample/trial you get when signing up, and I find them pretty engaging, but reviews of the software seem pretty scarce, so I'm a little wary about signing up to the full package at the moment.

Does anyone know much about this software or have any experience with it?

Any help would be very much appreciated :)

Have you read any of those studies. I read an article written and supported by quite a few neuroscientists stating that these games are just money scams. Now if brainHQ is free go for it but I wouldn't waste money on those games. I find the best way to train tour brain is to create your own real life experiences to train your brain.

Hi,
Thanks for the response. I've skimmed through a few of their studies. The majority of them seemed to be aimed at the elderly and those suffering with cognitive decline, although I did find one that claimed to improve cognition in 'normal adults'.
I've heard that as well, which is why I was excited to find one that supposedly works, but the lack of reviews/feedback on its efficacy makes me a bit wary about buying it.
