Hi,

I read so many contradictions about ALA and RALA.

I have came to alpha lipoic acid because of it's antioxidant properties and maintaining a healhy blood sugar level. And more important for me, it reduces oxidative stress and raises gluthatione.

I can't figure out which form reduces oxidative stress more and raises gluthatione more?

The R isomer is the active compound, taking a racemic mixture will require a higher dose for the same effect. (Because only 50% is active)

I'm not 100% sure if the S isomer in the racemic mixture has any negative effects in total should you decide to go for the racemic mixture.

If you can afford it your most safe bet would be a sodium salt of the R isomer (Na-R-ALA) of a respected / wellknown source.
