Biotest had sent out samples of spike (sulbutamine) and I tried it, noticed nothing, and forgot about it.

I just tried it again, and it definitely produces a gentle increase in mental alertness. Much subtler then other things I've tried (e.g. neurostim or powerdrive). Should be useful for e.g. afternoon slump, or having to be alert for work at odd hours (like now).

Anyone else tried it, or know who is selling it i.e. sulbutamine these days?

Thanks.

Ive tried the cnw sulbutiamine, and it def. increased my focus, no jitterness, also the duration of focus increased.

alas, daily use causes the effects to become very mild.

I tried old smil2e sulbutamine, and well at first I thought it did something but it I think it was the placebo effect. I don't think this stuff does much. I shelfed it perhaps it is time to dust it off and give it one more go before I write it off completely. It could be one of those things were it effects some and not others.

It (Spike) most definitely works for me, but then again I seem to be sensitive to stimulants. It is a much smoother rider for me than pure caffeine, and works more reliably than Powerdrive (basically tyrosine), for example. Often one capsule (I think they are now in tablets) is almost too much for the first couple of hours, and I generally feel the effects for about 12 hours. It's a good thing.

This is my first post here.
I've been using sulbutiamine (arcalion) for about more than 1 year after getting it from a doctor who is a friend of my grandad.
He prescribed it for me because at the time (summer 2004) I had emotional stress. (lost my dad).
after taking it for a while this is what I think that it might made me feel:

Probs:
-felt happy, forgetting my sorrows (main issue)
-ability to remember things better and faster
-reading books feels good (normally don't read much, i get disorrientated by other things around me )
-focussing on example: bikeriding raised.

Not so good things:
-very mild head ache, feels like my head is light overpressurized. I was just using 200mg a day
-if i read something, my memory goes faster than what i was reading in my mind,
makes me read things that doesn't written on it. it only looks the same word but is isn't (I think my mind doesn't go synchronized with my brains and my visuality) I have this since I ever took it from the beginning.

I haven't using it every day, there where times I haven't using it for weeks.

p.s. Bougt it OTC in Turkey, costs aprox. 13 euro's for 30 pcs of original Arcalion

Firstly, I am new here so hi to everyone! I've enjoyed reading all the info here which I have found to be very informative so thank you!

I have never tried Spike or Sulbutiamine (Arcalion) but I have been using megadoses of Thiamine (Vit. B1) on and off for over a year and am greatly impressed. I always take a 250 mg or 300 mg B1 pill with a Vitamin B Complex (100 mgs/mcgs of the various B Vitamins) usually twice per day (once with breakfast and once with lunch).

Good things about Thiamine megadoses:
- Greatly improves my attention to detail on reading tasks. Without it I often struggle reading through pubmed articles for example, with it I read every single word quickly and understand what the article is about without giving up (I often 'give up' without this given that I have inattentive type ADD).
- Greatly improves ability to do 'boring' mundane tasks. For example, when doing boring checking tasts at work, this helps me rip through them better than anything else. Also lets me rip through chores easily.
- Improves my motivation. It allows me to follow a more disciplined lifestyle (eating healthier, sticking to routines, doing boring chores without too much hassle, etc.)
- Gives me more mental energy and I feel more awake generally in the daytime.

Bad things about the Thiamine megadoses:
- Makes me kind of introverted and spacey. I dont feel like interacting with people as much.
- Can make me iritable and depressed after a few hours.
I have found that taking 500 mg of Carnosine a little after taking the Thiamine helps to partially remedy these negative effects for some reason.

- Vis
