There are several Nootropics that seem to require or be supported by another supplement/mineral/amino-acid etc.
Ex. If I take Xgrams/day of Piracetam, I should also be taking Xgrams of Choline, Citocholine etc./day. Otherwise headaches or drowsiness may result.
Or another example; If I take Xgrams/day of Acetyl-L-Carnatine then it's good to take Alpha-Lipoic Acid as a mitochondrial antioxidant. (Since ALCAR is a mitochondrial upregulator)..right?
You take B6/ZMA when taking SAM-e etc.
I'm guessing that these things are still being learned by many, I am just wondering if there is a list of these important combos somwhere, or if maybe this topic could be used to compile some of these important "Nootropic support supplements"?
Thanks [thumb]

I'd be interested to hear about this too, I'm trying to read more on the ALCAR/ALA team, and how idebenone works into the mix.

Nice [thumb] That's what I'm talking about [lol]
Here's something I borrowed from the current Deprenyl discussion in regards to how much NAC (N-Acetyl-Cysteine) and Vitamins C and E should be consumed to balance the bodies natural antioxidant system due to the increased SOD levels created by deprenyl.

A personal note: After all this, sometimes confusing, information about deprenyl, you are probably wondering how much, if any, deprenyl I take. In 1989, I began taking 15 mg. a week. I soon reduced the dosage to 5 to 10 mg. of deprenyl weekly. In 1996, I reduced my dose to 5 mg. a week and started using liquid deprenyl citrate. I also take 1000 mg. of NAC per day and at least 800 I.U. of vitamin E and 3200 mg. of vitamin C per day.

See the preceding context of this quote here> http://www.futuresci...m/deprenyl.html
Keep it coming, this is important stuff! Alot to learn before swallowing piles of pills, drops and/or powders. Keeping these chemical balances is most important..
I think alot of folks would appreciate being able to access these Noop/Supp ratios in one place, doncha think?

very interesting article. [thumb] i'd love to see ratios and inter/counteractions, but i don't know who wants to take on that massive burden.
