Presumably from an IP range that has previously been implicated in spamming.

Altogether possible Caliban and as she connects via 3G (vodacom I think) I don't suppose there is any way around this as she won't have a static IP?

She should be able to use a proxy, Tor or even tunnel through a VPN. I would most likely choose a VPN. There are quite a few free VPN services right now that should be fine if she is just surfing the net.

Good idea. There are a good number of easy to use proxy extensions for chrome.

"Sorry Logic, you are not allowed to post links..."
WTF!???
Please fix.
It would also be nice if the software saved the bloody great post before redirecting to the above.

This friend is back in South Africa and is still getting the same message..?
Could it be malware on her computer that's reg flagging her IP?

Maybe a firewall problem?

Maybe a firewall problem?

I get the "Sorry Logic, you are not allowed to post links..." even without a link.
Ie: I cant post, link or no, anywhere except here.
Please do fix this!
I cant even post a smiley (sad face) and then I get the message here too!??

I would think that it would be possible to search the message database of our forum software to see if such a message is even contained in it. If it's coming from us, then there is some sort of reason for it. Can she get in using a completely different device? Is she coming out of an institutional environment that limits where she can go?

Our engineers will look into this.

The message is ours and typically used to bound off known spammers. We can try to whitelist her IP, but if she is always in a range flagged for spamming, she will have trouble not just at this site.

Thx guys. ![]()
I will chat with her and see if I can get to the bottom of this.
My IT is a bit rusty, but I think her IP comes from Vodacom.
ie: Her machine is set up as a DHCP client of that ISP, I think, but then its strange that she always gets one in the blocked range..?
She is very happy with the increased attention span of her kids and others issues, based on advice I passed on from here and really wants to join the community, so I will put some serious effort into it and report back.
