How do people store their bulk nootropics? I just received a few sealed bulk containers, and I won't be getting to them for a while. Any recommendations?

I've taken to putting 'racetams in my little bar fridge. I've had a key of piracetam there for just about a year, and it still feels potent (although it probably wouldn't have gone bad anyways).

I agree. Removing oxygen and energy (heat) from the system is the way to go. Vac and fridge.

Because of condensation. If you take it out and open immedietely it will catch some moisture from the air.

I've vacuum sealed some powders, but I'm a little afraid to vacuum seal capsules. Have you tried it? Did vacuuming pop open all the capsules? I don't want to destroy some of my expensive supplements, but I suppose I might try out a couple of capsules to see what happens.

My vacuum-sealer has a button that makes the vacuum phase quit and go directly to the heat-seal stage. So what I've done so far is that I've let the vacuum pump go until the gross air is out of the bag and then jump to sealing. How about you?

Hey everyone thanks for all of your input.

How about storing bulk vitamins or even bottles of fish oil capsules?

Anyone store their vitamins or fish oil caps in the fridge as well?

I think the best way to store bulk powders or herbs is in the freezer. Heat, light and air are the things that degrade nootropics or other goodies. Vac sealing is the best way to keep air out. Caps will not explode because they are not hermetically sealed. Did you know that plastic breathes and lets air in? A sandwich bag is almost useless except it keeps your stuff together. Freezer bags are better but allow a little bit of air to get through. The air comes through the plastic itself, not just through the seal. The thicker the bag the better. If you have a jar that seals well and is just big enough to put the sealed bag in, that helps a little bit more.

Keep in mind that you will want to take some out and use it eventually. Usually the best thing is to have several containers in the freezer and when you open one, put it in the fridge while you use it. I keep my vites in the fridge and things that will be kept long term or that I have a lot of go in the freezer. I bought a second fridge just to give me more storage space.

I don't actually have a vacuum sealer. And if i did i probably wouldn't seal caps itself. I have lots of used bottles from previous supplements in which i put caps i make. Then I wrap it very good in plastic foil (or whatever it's called in english) so it's sealed good and put it in a fridge. I keep unopened bottles of all oils in fridge.
I've sent emails with questions to Puritan and NOW Foods about storage. They all told me there is no need to keep any of the supplements in the fridge, but NOW Foods advised if air temp is high that I should store unopened bottles of fish oil in a fridge.
