I had the pleasure of having dinner with Dr. Martine Rothblatt, Dr. Ben Goertzel and Dr. Bill Bainbridge last week here in Bethesda. We discussed a number of ideas concerning immortalism.

Dr. Bainbridge has been working on personality capture software as a tool to systematically preserve mind information... so that if augmentation, reanimation, etc. were needed, such information would be assessable.

My question is that, if implemented to its fullest potential, how helpful would personality capture be in helping to reconstitute individuals from differing levels of brain damage?

To help focus this conversation... would invest the time in taking 2,000 question questionnaire as a way to preserve more of 'you'... or would you invest such time in some other type of immortalizing activity?

...I suppose that personality capture should be accompanied with some biological sample that allow body reconstruction & cloning in the future and transfer the captured personality. I wonder, if someone want to take the concrete practice options for try to go over die and away again in the future, which current available possibilities have? So far I know, the only real or concrete possibility for try to survive after organic disfunction is to be cryogenically frozen. Can be personality capture, considered as a second practice option for that too? It looks like personality capture depends almost completely on the person self. And that´s so far the two options for try to go over death. I´m right? Or there is some other option for someone that would like to try all the possible available options for indefinitely survive?
