I have severe Adhd issues and I decided to give Pyritinol a try. Should I take something with it? I know that with Piracetam we have to take some kind of Choline. Is it the same with Pyritinol? As much as possible, I want to try each nootropics separately. I received a supply of DMAE too but didn't try it yet.

Why is it that every new member here has ADHD? This forum must be mentioned constantly on some ADHD forum. [tung]

Part of it, I think is especially for those ADD individuals at the higher end of the IQ spectrum, we tend to constantly be searchig for more insight into who we are. For me, I don't give a damm what people want to label who I am - for ADHD is just a label to describe it.

I can only say I struggled for most of my life to get work done, telling my parents they could lock me in a room with nothing but my hw - and I still wouldn't get it done. I know I tried to get my work done, but never could....and I remeber being diagnosed with ADD in college, and thinking it was BS, but then researching, and learning more about it, and realizing that my viewpoint of ADHD was skewed. And I finally remeber trying concerta, and being astounded because I could actuallly sit down and do hw, sit in class and pay attention....and finally realizing what ADD was.

Now, my interest with nootropics and neurochemistry predated my ADD diagnosis. The diffrence is before, I just thought I was lazy and not motivated enough....and in hindsight I now know what a more normal attention span is for thing's im not supremely interested in, and now my nootropic goals are more targeted towards my focusing ability.

For the record, im not sure of any ADHD forums that point to nootropics...most people get a better result from diet management.

That's right. I tried every medications available for ADHD and didn't get any result so I'm looking for something else. All my life, I thought that it was just a matter of motivation but now that I got a diagnosis, I understand better my past struggles. I'm smart (didn't receive my official result yet but my psychiatrist expect an IQ over 120) I just don't have any control over my brain, except when I'm highly stimulated.

Meanwhile, none anwsered my question...

I won't say i have it, but by what you are saying i'd say i have similar symptomes. Deprenyl has done wonders for me in term of motivation. As for focus i'm not sure any of the supplements i've tried was of a great help.

Deprenyl is a controlled medication in Canada and I don't think I will be able to find a doctor willing to prescribe it to me. My hope to find a drug to help for focus diminishs.

Unique nutrition ships to canada without any problems.
It takes about 1-2 weeks on a right dosage to notice motivation improovments. Please search olders posts for deprenyl here, it has been discussed many times.

I just ordered Deprenyl from Unique Nutrition; it comes from overseas, and I am on a tiny island in Gulf/Tx. I got it in about 7 days!

It's too early to tell the effects; I've been on it for about a week, started with about 1 mg. and am increasing to see any difference.

I also have a stack, (pir, vin, A-GPC, galantamine, theanine (or thea/phenibut...on occasion) ...which makes me wonder,....

HAhahaha! My parents solution to this for 4 girls was:
1. private school
2. horse farm
3. Swim practice, am and pm everyday ; 4 hr practice on sats

we were too damn busy or tired to ever get bored!!!!...and My folks had us convinced they were GOD [huh] so if I strayed, I got a 14 foot sulky rein across the ...u know where!

IMHO, I think most kids are bored and have no guidance/discipline...no offense intended...but WHAT do you do with your time???

If I wasn't exercising horses, shoveling shit, in the pool for 3 hrs/day, studying studying studying, shoveling more shit...and then competing/racing....Yeah, I'd probably be bored outta my wits too...and say I have ...uh....what's it called??? [tung]

Poor kids, don't blame them...they're suppose to be full of P&V! Put it to good use, parents!
...slap the dogcrap outta the parents! [thumb]

Drugs and supps are not Always the cure! Perhaps a life change...if not a Life would help.
Go find and farm and volunteer some time...quick cure, and you may learn something!
Good luck anyway

Well... I grew up on a farm and has been used to hard work. Even if I struggled during my university, I'm going back for an MBA. Nevertheless, how do I draw the line between perseverance and stubbornness. When I cry at my job because I can't concentrate, maybe it means that I reached my limits? I think that it's important to make the difference between adhd kids and kids with adhd behaviors. Over-encouraging an adhd kid without understanding his struggles can be quite dangerous. Most of the time, we don't need encouragement because we know our potential. We need to be understood and we need kindly help.

Glad to hear you got it so quikly.
Be careful with your stack and deprenyl. If you feel you're getting anxious or feel too stimulated lower your dose of AGPC and vinpocetine. Caffeine too.
Deprenyl itself was a stimulant for me, but it seem it potentiated effects of AGPC, caffeine and other stimulants. That's why I quit all my nootropics and caffeine and only take deprenyl (except for ocassional piracetam).
You could also combat overstumulation and anxiety with theanine and phenibut...but why overstimulate in the first place...

Thanks for the info! I was going to make a separate post and ask this very question!
Yes, I've lowered my pir, and AGPC has only been 1-2 tabs (300mg ea) a day anyway.
But thanks for the heads up! It's what I needed to know!!

JIB: ""We need to be understood and we need kindly help. ""

exactly true!
that's a laughing matter to many parents from the old school....we were cheap labor, basically.
When you do well, it's expected, when you screw up....you may as well have caused the world to stop turning! and even as adults, they Still constantly remind you...
gotta learn to laugh. I finally did! (20 some yrs alter;-)
