The world of Neurofeedback

LaViidaLocaa's Photo LaViidaLocaa 09 Jan 2016

I'm a 4th year medical student with no mental or other health problems, looking to further improve my learning abilities as well as concentration (as I often feel easily distracted, especially in the afternoon). I have been meditating on-and-off for the past 3-4 months and have become happier (compared to baseline, which was already fairly happy) and less agitated (again, compared to baseline). I have my diet and exercise regimen in check for a lot of years now, and supplement with various supps since following LongeCity for 2-3 years, currently trialing nootropics as well.

I am in possession of an EEG machine, so only need some software to get started with the neurofeedback. Looking through various sources, I noticed there is a wide range of programs to use, most of them claiming overlapping effects.

For example, https://brain-traine...egory/products/ has many different software products, but I can't really come to a conclusion of which of them would aid in improving focus/concentration and memory. The price doesn't really allow to trial-and-error either. That said, I'm able to invest in 1 or 2 software packages (if the prices are as on the link above).

Any advice would be much appreciated!

You need to check that your EEG machine is compatible with BioExplorer before using the brain trainer software. The subscription to their protocols is fantastic value for money at $200.

BioEra might be another option for software, but you most likely need to build your own protocols as there are few commercial offerings. At least it is still in development (BioExplorer seems to have stalled a few years ago)
