Wow, I'm so used to saying 15 billion years.. I'll have to reprogram my neural map... 13.7 - 13.7 - 13.7... - BJK

Astronomers said Tuesday that a new glimpse of the universe from just after its birth has given them a far clearer understanding of the cosmos, including pegging its age at an astonishingly precise 13.7 billion years.
"Every astronomer will remember when they first heard these results," said John Bahcall, professor of natural sciences at the Institute for Advanced Study in Princeton, N.J. "The bottom line of today's announcement is that we live in a crazy universe whose defining behavior we know precisely for the last 14 billion years."

In 1992, NASA's COBE mission first detected patterns in the oldest light in the universe (shown as color variations).
